I’ve been way too excited for this one!! I know I’m not alone in wishing that some fictional characters were real. I’ve dreamed of being able to actually talk to and hang out with these people! My introvert self might actually have friends! LOL And then there’s the characters that hit us in a different way and we actually develop crushes on them! And the most wonderful thing is that we fall for them without seeing them. Of course there are descriptions but that’s not what we fall for. We fall for their personalities and their actions. This is my list of characters I’ve crushed on 🙂
Top 5 Tuesday is a weekly meme where I explore different topics. If you are interested in doing my topic on your blog feel free! Here is a list of my upcoming topics if you’re interested in participating in future Top 5’s!
RHYSAND – A COURT OF THORNS AND ROSES
Everyone knew this was coming so I’m getting the obvious out of the way now! I don’t think I’ve ever crushed so hard on a character in my whole life! I swooned literally the entire time I was reading ACOMAF. How smart and protective he is just made me heart melt onto the pages. He always had a plan and was willing to sacrifice himself and his reputation to protect others. And he has wings – WINGS! I could go on forever, but I’m sure you already understand!
KVOTHE – THE NAME OF THE WIND
One word comes to mind when I think of Kvothe – brilliant! This guys mind is what has me over the moon for him. He makes the most difficult of things look easy, his determination is never ending, and he finds a way out of every single situation. He’s loyal to all of those who treat him well, which is probably one of his best attributes. I’m only half way through The Wise Mans Fear and absolutely love following him throughout his life. I still don’t know what he did to get his name and can’t wait to find out more!
MARK WATNEY – THE MARTIAN
This character reminds me so much of my husband. He’s smart, resourceful, and doesn’t give up. But it’s his sense of humour that draws me into him. Casting Matt Damon in the movie was a fantastic choice, but I feel that most of the humour that I loved in the book was lost. If I was in his situation I would have probably given up on day one. But he pushed through and looked at everything in the most positive of light. He even used every possible chance to make people laugh. I love you for your humour Mark!
CARSWELL THORNE – LUNAR CHRONICLES
Yet another space man with a sense of humour who can get himself out of any situation and always has a plan! – apparently I’m VERY set in the types of men I like! His sense of humour was also what made me fall for him. People act differently in stressful situations and he shows his fears with nervous humour. He’s also very protective of the people he loves. Mixed with all of that he’s very sneaky! Though he comes off as a know it all sometimes so I’m sure if we were in a relationship I would end up wanting to punch him sometimes!
ERIC NORTHMAN – THE SOOKIE STACKHOUSE SERIES
This is the only one on my list that doesn’t fit in the same category as the rest – this one is driven by pure steam! I swear this man could melt me into a puddle with just one look. I read a few of the books before the TV show came out and swooned for him even before we had this yummy man to associate his character with….. utterly delicious!!!

Jamie Fraser form the Outlander series, that’s it i dont have a top 5, there is no list for me, I just want Jamie Fraser😊

I’ve only read the first 100 pages or so of Outlander so I haven’t been hooked by Jamie yet! I hope to continue with this book next month!

Wolf from The Lunar Chronicles for me. He is probably the only one on my book boyfriend list.

I loved Wolf!!! Him and Scarlet were just adorable! ❤️

I loved him from his first appearance. I am a bit biased though because his book description sounds exactly like my boyfriend, scars and all. I actually made him read the Lunar Chronicles because of it. haha

If your boyfriend is like Wolf then he’s amazing! I happen to think scars are sexy lol there’s no way I could get my husband to read the lunar chronicles! I wish he would but it wouldn’t happen 😂

He is an over 6 foot tall, weight lifter with thick dark hair, green eyes, a tan and a face and everywhere else scar collection. I love scars on a guy, they are hot. Why won’t your husband read it?? My boyfriend LOVES lunar chronicles. He bought me my physical copies after I read the digital version and he wrote “To my Alpha” inside them all.

Awwwwwwww!!!! I would have absolutely melted if someone wrote that inside of those books! You officially have the best boyfriend ever!!! My hubby isn’t much of a reader. I can get him to read a few things but it’s rare. Like maybe one book every 7 years 😂

Thanks, I am lucky to have him. You should get your hubby to read more. Mine isn’t has big of a reader as I am but he will read anything I recommend to him because I know what he likes. We have a few book series’ that we read together and traditions like that.

I wish I could. He’s just too busy at the moment and reading isn’t on his priority list. But I won’t give up!

Keep trying. He might take it up when he has more free time on his hands.

“My introvert self might actually have friends” most relatable thing I’ve heard this month XD
Carswell Thorne. Yes. I thought that he was the most interesting dude in that series (although I developed a thing for Torin, too… the poor guy…)

Mark Watney is so nerdy-cool! I really liked him, too. Now, if you could combine Watney with Eric Northman’s sensuality and good looks, you’d have the perfect guy!

Such a great list – and what a fun topic!
Rhysand is my ultimate book boyfriend. He’s so supportive and brave. And of course, the fact that he’s beautiful doesn’t hurt. Haha.

Thorne!! I feel like Thorne just belongs on these kinds of lists, it pained me not to put him on mine (but I had to go with Kai…at least one Lunar Chronicles male had to be on it, lol).

Lol it was such a toss up! Thorne, Kai and wolf are all amazing!

OMGGG THIS LIST IS THE BEST. (YAS. THORNE. 😍) And I JUST bought ACOTAR at the bookstore a day ago, and I AM SO EXCITED TO READ IT! I really hope it lives up to the hype for me!

Yay!! ACOTAR!!! The first one is a bit difficult to get into and understand. So much more is explained about the story and the characters in book 2. I hope you love it!

Okay good to know, I’ll keep that in mind and really try to stick with the book!

OK my number one is Ben Garston from Chasing Embers by James Bennett. I don’t think he was even supposed to be attractive in any way but the pages were sizzling! 😂 I had the hugest book crush I’ve ever had on that character and I am not disappointed that a second book is coming out soon!

Hmmm I haven’t heard of that one! I may need to look into it! 😍

Ah, I totally agree with Rhysand and Thorne! Those are two of my favorites as well! ❤ I'll add Rowan Whitethorn and Percy Jackson to the list!

Well Rhysand of course and Jace from TMI. Now non YA I would nominate Archer form Mia Sheridan and Remy from Real by Katy Evans. And Bailey from Making Faces by Amy Harmon. He was only a side character and suffered from a grave illness but he was a true hero. Ho and Ehd from Transcendence and Yossarian from Some Day Soon by Meredith A Walters. See you inspired me Shanah 😉

Glad it made you think! I’ve heard of a few of those authors. I just got the kindle app so I may look into those so I will know why you love them 🙂
