It’s that time again – time to release the topics for the upcoming month! And this month I’m doing things a little differently: It will be the first ever top 5 themed month!! I know that this theme won’t be for everyone. Some of you will love it, and some of you won’t. But I tried to go with a theme that would be most widely known and loved. And that theme is…………
For each week of the month of February, we will be doing a different Hogwarts house! Each Hogwarts house is uniquely different in their traits (which I will outline below), and you can choose books that you think a person of that house would enjoy, or a book with characters that fit the traits of that house.
Haven’t read the books or seen the movies? Fear not! Below I will be outlining the different traits of all the houses so you can still choose books based on those. I realize that this theme won’t be for everyone, so don’t feel pressured to participate if Harry Potter just isn’t your thing. I do hope you come back in March (which WON’T be themed!). Without further ado, here’s the topics for February!
February 5 – Gryffindor
February 12 – Ravenclaw
February 19 – Hufflepuff
February 26 – Slytherin
They are experience oriented, honest, practical, blunt, passionate, playful, funny, trusting, idealistic, stubborn and procrastinators. They live in the moment, don’t take themselves seriously, are wary of manipulators and liars, have a strong moral centre, and are unafraid to seize opportunities and make changes.
They are analytical, intelligent, logical yet impractical, curious, inquisitive, creative, witty, wise, interested in understanding things, cynics, fond of intellectual discussion, introspective, independent, wordy, and self entertaining. They observe rather than participate, are fond of learning for the sake of learning, and good at school (or really anything that they have an interest in!)
They are hard working, determined, tenacious, loyal, honest, genuine, well rounded, fair and just, open minded, giving, good hearted, accepting, compassionate, practical, patient, unemotional, and dependable. Their loyalty is not given – it’s earned.
They are ambitious, driven, goal focused, determined, prepared, perfectionists, adaptable, realistic, self reliant, charming, assertive, and ruthless. They are highly selective with their loyalty, love positive attention and thrive on praise, care about the impression they give, demand respect, and can be disloyal.
That’s what we will be talking about in February! I hope that you’re as excited as I am! To all of you who don’t like this themed month I apologize and hope you come back in March. I love the idea of themed months though, so if you have any suggestions, please send them along! I think it would be fun to throw in a themed month every once in a while!
As always, please remember that I don’t always have time to comment on all of your posts but, trust me, I’ve read them! My life is super busy so my free time is short. Can’t wait to see what you come up with this month!!
Until next time, happy reading!
