Weekly Wrap Up – Nov 5 – 11

What. A. Week! First of all, I’m feeling a little bit better. Ok, well, not 100% better but I no longer feel like I’m on deaths door. I just haven’t been able to get my strength or energy back and getting through an entire day is a struggle. But it’s better so I’m looking at the bright side! Another bright side is that being sick, there was extra reading time! I actually managed to FINISH THREE BOOKS THIS WEEK!!!! I KNOW! I still don’t even really know what to think about that. I’m pretty sure it’s impossible to process that I’ve read that much! I finished most this weekend so the reviews aren’t up yet. But, without further ado, here’s what I read!

BOOKS I’VE FINISHED THIS WEEK:

MIRRORS AND THORNS – a collection of dark fairy tales

This one was a pleasant surprise! I’m not normally a fan of short stories but this one changed my mind a little bit! It was finally a collection of things that I love to read about and it was wonderful! Some I LOVED and wanted a full length novel, and some I just didn’t connect with. But as a whole, I really enjoyed this one!

THEY BOTH DIE AT THE END by Adam Silvera – 5 stars (review to come tomorrow!)

This was an unplanned read. I read More Happy Than Not last year and it wasn’t my favourite. I enjoyed his writing just fine but there was a big issue with me connecting to the story and the characters. But I won’t write off an author after only one bad experience so I gave him a second chance. SOOOOO glad I did! This book ruined me! I’m glad I decided to finish this one when the kids were sleeping and the Hubby was out of the house. I ended up a snot faced mess as I cried on the couch. So wonderful and heart breaking!

ONE DARK THRONE (review coming Wednesday)

I just finished this one late last night and I’m trying to process my thoughts. I have very strong thoughts both in the positive and negative aspects so it will be nice to wait a few days before I write this review so I can piece together how I thought of it as a whole.

BOOKS I’M CURRENTLY READING:

I am determined that this is the last week that IT will be on my currently reading list!! Not sure I’ll do a review for it though. Its a difficult one to review and you all pretty much know what happens.

Renegades! I am SO excited for this book! When it came in the mail I honestly didn’t expect it to be this large! I don’t know why, but I thought it would be shorter. Not complaining here though! Gives me more time with Marissa Meyer’s words! If you’ve seen this book in person, please tell me I’m not the only one that is obsessed with the spine of this book! I mean it’s soooooo striking and beautiful! It’s so bold and shiny, commanding your attention in every way!

My older sister gave me IT when I was twelve years old, I read it and had nightmares for weeks…I haven’t touched another horror novel ever since…The worst thing about it was that I just couldn’t stop reading! 😀 I hope you have fun reading it (without nightmares)

  5. I’m so glad every time I read someone cried reading They Both Die At The End, haha.
I started reading thinking “I know how it’s ending; I’m NOT going to cry.”
    Yeah, that failed. :’D

    Hope you feel better soon!

    1. Hahahahaha! I got to the last 1/4 of the book and told myself I wasn’t going to cry too! I failed. Miserably! I love finding out that others cried at books. Makes me feel a little less like a baby 😂

    1. His books seem to either be “love them” or “hate them” I hope you’re on the love them side when you get around to reading them!
