And we’re back! Last week there was no topic and it felt SO weird!! But we’re back this week and with a topic I’m SO excited for! Of course we pick up books that we think we’re going to enjoy, but there are always some that we think will blow us away. Here are 5 books that I think I’ll end up rating 5 stars:
Top 5 Tuesday is a weekly meme where I explore different topics. If you are interested in participating I would love to have you! Here is a list of my Upcoming topics in April – please remember to ping back a specific post of mine so I get a notification and I will add you to the participants list!
THE NIGHTINGALE by Kristin Hannah
This is a book that I’ve had on my shelves for years. People have been raving about it since it came out, and historical fiction is right up my alley. And people with the same reading tastes as me absolutely loved this. I know it’s going to be a high rated book…… which doesn’t explain why I haven’t read it yet lol
THE WAY OF KINGS by Brandon Sanderson
I recently devoured the Mistborn trilogy and LOVED it! Brandon Sanderson is one of the most hyped authors out there (more specifically in the fantasy world) and I fell HARD when I realized his genius. This one is SO intimidating though! It’s massive! I know it’s going to take me a while to make it through this one, but it will be worth it!
A THOUSAND YEARS TO WAIT by L. Ryan Storms
This one is sort of cheating. I read it a few years ago during the beta reading stage and I loved it then. I read it with the intent to give her some feedback…… and failed miserably! Instead of pausing to take notes of my thoughts and opinions, I read it straight through and fell in love. I just couldn’t stop reading! Now that she’s changed a few things, I can’t wait to dive back into this world with these characters!
TO KILL A KINGDOM by Alexandra Christo
I’m basing my 5 star prediction on the opinion of others with this one. So many people have read this and rate it 5 stars. But it wasn’t that that makes me think I’ll rate it 5 stars as well. It’s the fact that I never would have thought that certain people would even enjoy it, let alone rate it so highly! But they did, and now I’m interested lol
DARKDAWN by Jay Kristoff
I don’t *think* I’ll rate this one 5 stars….. I know. It’s Jay Kristoff….. and it’s a part of the Nevernight series….. It will crush me, and I know I’m not prepared, but it will be 5 stars no matter how much it hurts.

I predict The Way of Kings will be a five star read too, but maybe I’m biased because I absolutely love Brandon Sanderson? 🙃

I hope you love all the books you picked! I think you will love the Nightingale and To Kill a Kingdom. I loved them both.
For me, I predict these will be 5 star reads for me:
Darkdawn because, as you said, it’s Jay Kristoff and this trilogy has been so much bloody fun. I think it’s going to piss me off but I’ll love it anyway.
Beard Necessities by Penny Reid – I adore this series and this book has been teased since the first book. This is a 2nd chance romance with lots of longing and drama. I adore Billy and want to see his HEA.
The Rise Of Magicks by Nora Roberts- for me, this trilogy is a redemption. I didn’t like the last trilogy she wrote and it made me so sad because I have loved her trilogies in the past. I loved the first 2 books and am so hopeful that this one will be fantastic.
The Ninth House by Leigh Bardugo- ok this one is a gamble. SOC is one of my favorite books of ever. Kaz is just so perfect. But I am not a big fan of the Grisha Trilogy. Nicolais’ book was good but Nina was there so…. This is muder mystery-ish with secret society overtomes and maybe a splash of magic. I am intrigued and extremely hopeful.
Aurora Rising by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff- ok maybe this is kind of cheating but I LOVED the Illuminae Files and I cannot wait to see what these two have cooked up this time. Plus it mentions someone with a black belt in sarcasm and I totally relate to that.
