May TBR

This is going to be an AMAZING month!!! I know that I’m busy, but I WILL find a way to read all these books!!! Three of these are new releases for the month, and the other two are backlisted books. And, don’t forget! This is the first month that I will be doing the TBR unhaul challenge! The books have been chosen, and I’ll list those towards the end of this post 🙂

THE NEW RELEASES:

A COURT OF FROST AND STARLIGHT – EEK! It’s finally almost here! I’ve got it preordered already and I’m just awaiting my shipment email. Then I can stalk the mail man like a proper book worm does lol. As soon as this book is in my hands I plan to devour it!

LIFEL1K3 – More King Kristoff! And this book sounds so amazing! All I know is that there’s a character named Lemon Fresh…… What?! I want to know how a person gets a name like that!

LEGENDARY – Finally the sequel to Caraval! I’ve admitted that I had a few problems with book one, but the story was interesting enough and it had me twisted and turned the whole way through. It was one of the few books that I never really knew who to trust and what was reality. I have high hopes for this sequel!

TBR UNHAUL CHALLENGE #1!

I’m so excited! And nervous at the same time! The books have been chosen and now I have two books that I need to read this month in order to keep them. If I don’t read them, I have only ONE save from now until the end of December. So, basically, read them or their gone! The two books that I’ll be reading from my backlist in May are…..

Two historical fictions?! What are the chances??

TBR JAR PICK – The TBR jar pick for May was My Lady Jane. This is a book that I’ve been wanting to read for the longest time! The reviews are so positive – I’m pretty sure that I haven’t seen a bad word about it! It’s light, funny, ridiculous, magical, and so much more. it’s about one of my favourite time periods in history and I couldn’t be more excited to get to this!!!!

MY KIDS PICK – I asked my son to pick the book this month. I told him which shelves he could pick from, and the first book he pointed to was The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt. I’m pretty sure that I audibly gasped so he changed his mind lol. He chose Code Name Verity, which is yet another one that I’ve heard great things about.

I’ve been saying that I wanted to get into more historical fiction soon – I guess that time is now! Check back to my May wrap up at the end of the month to see if I get to keep them or if they’re leaving my shelves forever!
