I wasn’t going to post a TBR. I’m such a mood reader and all this quarantine/isolation shit has really messed up my mood lately. But yet, here we are, with a TBR post anyway lol. I figured why not make myself accountable for reading in may? I need to get back into reading more and I hope that by writing this post I can get a little excited about some books! It’s going to be a short TBR….. realistically if I can finish a single book then it’s going to be better than the last month! LOL! There are quite a few that i’ve acquired lately that I’M SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO EXCITED FOR so cross your fingers that this is the kick in the ass I need to get back to reading! (aka for god sakes woman stop playing animal crossing 24/7…….. you have books to read!!!)
I figured that I would start off with the two books that I’m currently reading and they couldn’t be more different from each other lol. THE TROUBLE WITH HATING YOU by Sanji Patel is everything I hoped this rom-com would be! It’s hilarious, outlandish, and full of intrigue and drama. Then there’s a Stephen King book that I’ve been meaning to read for years and have finally gotten around to it and that’s PET SEMATARY! I’m maybe half way through right now and I can probably say that this is my favourite King book so far!
I’M SO EXCITED!!!! First of all I’m rereading my new all time favourite, FOUNDRYSIDE by Robert Jackson Bennett. I quickly named that one the best book I read in 2020 and I honestly don’t think anything will knock it out of that spot (Time will tell, see below). After the reread I’ll be picking up the sequel, SHOREFALL! I’ve heard it’s mind blowing and maybe better than the first. I’m afraid of what this book is going to do to me!!
Keeping up with my Robert Jackson Bennet marathon, I fully intend to start on his other popular series, The Divine Cities trilogy! Book one is CITY OF STAIRS and i’ve been told that this series is better than Foundryside….. not sure how the living hell that’s possible since Foundryside, as I mentioned, is one of my ALL TIME FAVOURITES but, RJB can try to top that. Need someone to hold your beer, Robert? I can’t wait to get to this series! Good thing I bought all three….. if this one goes well I plan on reading books 2 and 3 immediately!
Apparently May is going to be the month of Robert Jackson Bennett? I’m totally cool with that! I’ve been craving something fast and familiar and I have high hopes that he will be able to pull me out of my slump! What books are you planning to read in May? Are you going to try to read more or less? Just curious lol
Until next time, happy reading!
Three cheers for SK!

Both RJB’s series are amazing! I think I prefer Foundryside, but it’s saying something that at a time when I kept starting series and not finishing them, The Divine Cities was about the only trilogy I read start to finish within a matter of months.

Pet Sematary is my favourite King so far!! It’s actually creeping me out. It takes a lot to do that 😂 I haven’t read Insomnia before. Hope you’re loving it!

I know! These are the UK covers (which I ordered 😍) and they’re SO much nicer than the US and Canada covers!

Agreed! And the UK seems to LOVE their sprayed edges too. The US and Canada need to step up their eye appeal game lol

Hahah lately illustrated covers seem to be all the rage and it’s just totally not my thing at all. And I have been reading tons of ebooks lately but I do love sprayed and deckled edges
