Top 5 Tuesday – Authors from F to J

Sorry this post is going up late! I thought that I had it written last night so I fell asleep early. When I woke up I went to get to work on adding participants and…. the post wasn’t there. OOPS! Sorry about that! On top of that it was a hectic morning getting the kids off to school. Chaotic morning aside, here’s week two in the authors series – the letters F, G, H, I and J:

Top 5 Tuesday is a weekly meme where I explore different topics. If you are interested in participating I would love to have you! Here is a list of my Upcoming topics in March – please remember to ping back a specific post of mine so I get a notification and I will add you to the participants list!

the great gatsby

For F we have F. Scott Fitzgerald (The Great Gatsby) a double F means I should get double the points right?? I never in a million years thought that I would enjoy this book – it was a forced read in high school and a classic. Not normally my style. But he won me over!

The letter G is apparently for favourite historical fiction authors!!! Ryan Graudin (The Walled City) writes some of my favourite alternate history novels! I’ve read everything she’s ever written and have loved every single one! The Walled City is my favourite. Diana Gabaldon (Outlander) who’s Outlander series is beyond amazing!!! I highly recommend it! And then Phillipa Gregory (The Other Boleyn Girl) who’s novels made me slightly obsessed with historical fiction in the first place!!

The letter H is for Kevin Hearne (Hounded) who’s Iron Druid Chronicles series is something I never expected to love but fell head over heels in love with it! The humour mixed with fantasy (both modern and ancient) is something that makes me sooooo happy! I really need to continue with this series! And then there’s Grady Hendrix (My Best Friend’s Exorcism) who’s books don’t seem to take themselves seriously. They’re a great mix of funny, outlandish, over the top, and terrifying!

For the letter I we have…….. no one! LOL! I’ve read only one book written by someone with the last name that started with I and I hated it. Hate is maybe a strong word so I’ll say that I really disliked it. The only top 5 list that book will make it on is a list of disappointments. So here’s a picture of my cute puppy Sophie instead lol.

The letter J is apparently for authors that caught me off guard! Lauren James (The Loneliest Girl In The Universe) wrote a science fiction novel that I assumed would be a romance but turned into something that had my mind spinning!! And Tiffany D. Jackson (Allegedly) wrote a book with an ending that had me screaming “what the fuck?!” and questioning literally everything that I had read from cover to cover!

I am SO sorry for this post being so late. I don’t know if it was just a combination of the full moon, the time change, and Friday the 13th that made today so freaking nuts. It was one mishap after another, after another…… I’ve never been so late with a post! I’m really behind so I will try to do everything I can to update the participants soon!

Until next time, happy reading!
