Top 5 Tuesday – Authors from A to E

It’s here! It’s here! It’s here!! Can you tell i’m a little excited?? I’ve been holding back on this series for the longest time. I needed to wait for a month that had 5 Tuesday’s so that we could make it through the entire alphabet – and it’s finally time! I love any chance to be able to highlight authors. Without them, we wouldn’t have books! I feel like there are so many authors out there that I love yet I don’t talk about nearly as much as I should – and now is that time! As I explained in the announcement post, you can list the authors first name, last name, or a combination of the both. I’ve decided to stick with last names for this series……. mainly because it was easy to search up the authors i’ve read on Goodreads in alphabetical order lol!! And, since there are so many amazing authors available to highlight, I plan to list up to 3 for each letter! I’m feeling a little rebellious! Let’s jump into the alphabet, shall we?

Top 5 Tuesday is a weekly meme where I explore different topics. If you are interested in participating I would love to have you! Here is a list of my Upcoming topics in March – please remember to ping back a specific post of mine so I get a notification and I will add you to the participants list!

For the letter A we have Tomi Adeyemi (Children of Blood and Bone) who wrote one of the most impressive debut fantasy novels I’ve ever read, Katherine Arden (The Bear and the Nightingale) who’s Winternight Trilogy has some of the most well written atmosphere, and Renee Ahdieh (The Wrath and the Dawn) who gave me one of my first ever book hangovers!

For the letter B we have Robert Jackson Bennett (Foundryside) who wrote my new all time favourite book, David Benioff (City of Thieves) who wrote one of my favourite historical fiction novels of all time with the most interesting hook of finding a dozen eggs, and then we have John Boyne (The Heart’s Invisible Furies) who made me cry more times than I could count with this book. I still think about it weekly!!

For the letter C we have S. A. Chakraborty (The City of Brass) who wrote one of my all time favourite fantasy series and has a writing style that is unparalleled, Blake Crouch (Dark Matter) who wrote a science fiction that made me and my mom text each other at 3am because it blew our minds, and Becky Chambers (The Long Way to a Small Angry Planet) who wrote a science fiction with some of the best character development and diversity!!

Well Met

For the letter D we have Jen DeLuca (Well Met) who wrote a book that I read very recently and loved the aspect of a renaissance faire and thought was absolutely adorable! I don’t have many D authors to choose from and this was only one of my few favourites.

Gunslinger Girl

For the letter E I have one author…. and that’s Lyndsay Ely (Gunslinger Girl) who’s book I enjoyed but it wasn’t a favourite. It’s just that this is the only author who’s last name starts with E…..

There’s my list from A to E. I think that there are going to be a few letters that we stumble across where there won’t be many options while other letters (Ahem, M is going to be the worst!) where there are so many to choose from that it’s going to be hard to name just 3! What are your favourite authors who’s names start with A, B, C, D, or E?

Like I mentioned in my weekly wrap up post, this week is insanely busy with work. I’m working on more orders than I care to admit lol! I will try my hardest to add you to the list in a timely manner but, unfortunately, I probably won’t have time to comment.

Until next time, happy reading!

  1. Shanah, I made a mistake. When I read the topics for this month, I knew it was for authors but when I was drafting and scheduling my post, I forgot and thought it was the same as what we did before — book titles. So I ended up with a post entitled: Fall in Love from A to E. They’re romances with titles that start with A-E. I messed up. Hehe. I can just laugh at my mistake.

    Anyway, here it is: https://lilisblissfulpages.wordpress.com/2020/03/03/fall-in-love-from-a-to-e/

By the way, Well Met is my next read. I actually read your review and decided I should read it. 🙂

      1. I’m sorry. I’m sure I have done something wrong with tagging. I always copy and paste my paragraph when I do it and I’m not even sure what I linked it to. But thank you. I don’t do every week, but I try to do quite a few of them.

There are some great choices for the beginning of the alphabet! I’m a huge Robert Jackson Bennett fan too and although I wish he would shut up on social media, I love John Boyne’s books! Love Chakraborty, Chambers, and Arden too. I missed this week’s but I may have to double post next week and catch up because this is such a fun weekly challenge for the month!
