2020 is set to be an EPIC year for books!!! There are so many coming out this year that I’m absolutely dying to read – and i’m really bad for finding out about books ahead of time lol!! All of the books on this list are either sequels or books written by well loved authors. As soon as these get in my hands, they will be devoured!!!
Top 5 Tuesday is a weekly meme where I explore different topics. If you are interested in participating I would love to have you! Here is a list of my Upcoming topics in February – please remember to ping back a specific post of mine so I get a notification and I will add you to the participants list!
THE EMPIRE OF GOLD by S.A. Chakraborty
This is the long awaited (at least for me) finale to the Daevabad Trilogy. Her writing is absolutely phenomenal!!! She has a way of sucking me right into the world and the characters lives. In fact, this series is one of my all time favourites! I can’t wait to see how it all ends!
EMPIRE OF THE VAMPIRE by Jay Kristoff
You had me at Vampire and Jay Kristoff. Literally all I needed to know. I LOVE vampire stories and I’m so freaking glad they’re making a comeback! I remember being about 10 years old, camping in a supposed haunted forest, reading Dracula. I’ve always been obsessed with vampires. Now, to have one written by Jay Kristoff? I’m not sure my heart can handle this!!!
***** Edit – I caught yesterday that this one actually isn’t coming out until the fall of 2021….. My heart is broken yet, at the same time, I’m glad he’s taking the time to write it properly and not pushing through just to meet a deadline. I will wait for you Mr Kristoff. Always.
HOUSE OF EARTH AND BLOOD by Sarah J Maas
More Maas!!! I can’t wait! I’m trash for her books and won’t apologize for it! I honestly don’t even know what it’s about – and I don’t even care. All I know is that I hope that there are fae and sexy times lol!
TRUEL1F3 by Jay Kristoff
Are you really surprised that there are two Jay Kristoff books on this list? If you’ve been around this blog for any time at all, I know you expected this. The second book pissed me off a little with the plot direction, but I trust Mr Kristoff to bring it all back in this one. There will be more Lemon Fresh so I’m really ok with anything at this point!
MY CALAMITY JANE by Cynthia Hand, Brodi Ashton and Jodi Meadows
I never thought I would be excited about this one but I am! The first book caught me off guard with how much I loved it. There is so much humour throughout these books! It’s always a fun time read!!!

Maas: angels, fae and demons, oh my. It feels like Shadowhunters mixed with classic Maas and I am also so here for it. Haha. Totally unsurprising about Kristoff though.

No. I’m not surprised to see 2 Kristoff books. If anything I’m surprised there aren’t more than 2…

The one good thing about Empire of the Vampire being pushed back (aside from the very important part about having the time to write a proper, good book) is that it will give me more time to catch up with Kristoff’s extensive back catalogue!

I was scrolling through this being like: yep, heck yes, obviously yes, lol. The only one I’m not hyped on (yet) My Calamity Jane, but it’s because I haven’t started that series yet. I guess I need to since you included it with these other hyped reads.

I was actually dead set against these books. I thought I would hate them! A historical fiction with a magical realism element? NO THANKS! But then I picked up the audiobook on a whim one day….. I’m so glad I did!! It’s hilarious and entertaining as hell! I hope you give them a shot 🙂

I’m going to try and work them in…apparently the audio is the way to go! =D
