Weekly Wrap Up – November 18 – 24

It’s Sunday again?? So soon? Where did this week go? My head is in about a million places with work, Christmas shopping, reading….. the next 4 weeks are going to be INSANE! My company is about to release a new product in the next few weeks and I’m beyond excited! It’s going to mean a lot of late nights, and zero days off, but it’s going to be great! It might not be great for reading though. I’ve been in an audiobook slump lately and recently discovered Queer Eye (thanks sister in law!) so I have a feeling that’s going to take up all my time lol. I haven’t finished a book yet this week but I’m only a few pages away from the end of a book as I’m typing this. I’ll be finishing it today! I’ve got a lot to talk about (including the funniest bookish story EVER!) so let’s dive in!

I am SO close to the end and I’m really liking this! I didn’t know what to expect going into this so the whole thing was a surprise! There’s this boy who was a part of a tragic event that all of a sudden realizes that he can be a part of peoples dreams that are made into a terrifying reality….. oh and there’s an evil drag queen?! Yeah, this is kind of a chaotic book but in the best kind of way! My blog tour day is December 4th so keep your eye out for my review which will include the link to an excerpt of the book!!

The starless sea

I MUST read this book this week! It’s been long enough! I wanted to pick it up on release day but wanted to finish a book I was in the middle of. Then an ARC came in……. it’s time! I had the chance to listen to the audio book for this but I refuse. Her writing is so glorious that I want to feast on this with my eyes! I also wanted to take notes and write down quotes and passages from the book. I’m sure this will be a quote gold mine!

The post this week was the top 5 couples you don’t think stayed together which meant there was a lot of tea spilled! And the clear consensus was that Ron and Hermoine need to go! Sign the divorce papers because you were never supposed to happen! This Tuesday we move into the Topics for December – the last topics of 2019!!! The topic for December 3rd is the Top 5 Surprises of 2019!

I HIT 3,000!!!!!!

It happened! And I cried! Never did I EVER think the blog would get to this point. There are 3,000 of you that care what I have to say….. that’s so strange to me! I feel like I’m rambling out of my ass most days LOL! Thank you to each and every one of you throughout the years who have made blogging the best decision I ever made! I love you all! A giveaway will be coming in the new year after I recover financially…… you know how it goes lol

So you may have a different opinion of what constitutes as a “viral” post but, for me, as I don’t get a ton of interaction on twitter, I consider it anything over 100 likes. I don’t think I’ve ever had that before! Here’s the story:

I got early access to the first episode in Piera Forde’s Nevernight mini series. I couldn’t wait to watch it! I popped in my air pods, they made the sound that told me they were connected, and I hit play. This is what happened next:

“People often shit themselves when they die” blasts loudly from my phone
My 9 year old son – “THEY DO???”
Me – “OMG I’m sorry! No, that’s just the first line of a book.”
Son – “And you’ve read this book” (he says with a confused look on his face and dripping with judgement)
Me – (laughing hysterically for a solid 3 minutes. I was crying laughing) “Yes!”
Son – “Are you ok? Are you dying? Do you need to check your pants?”
Me – (laughs even freaking harder)

I am NOT making that conversation up! I laughed uncontrollably for the longest time. I was mortified that he heard that and then I was mortified that the little shit was judging me….. and then proceeded to get me back with my own smart assed attitude. This totally made my day! Also – if you haven’t heard of the mini series and you love Nevernight – you’re going to want to watch this! Piera as Mia is PERFECTION! Oh yeah! Also, BOTH Piera AND Jay Kristoff liked the tweet……… my life is complete.

Though this week wasn’t as productive in the reading department as I would have liked, it was still a great week with a lot of things happening! I’ve been spending a lot of time coming up with new ideas for the blog for 2020 and I’m so excited for it all! 2020 will be the best year yet!

Until next time, happy reading!
