Top 5 Couples I Don’t Think Stayed Together!

We all grew up on Disney right? So we have a healthy (unhealthy?) dose of “happily ever after”. But – what if it’s not always the case? There are a ton of relationships in books. Some you love and some you don’t. And some make sense for the time but you don’t think it will last forever. Here are 5 (well 4 actually…… that’s all I could come up with!) couples that I don’t think had everlasting love:

KADY GRANT & EZRA MASON – The Illuminae Files

I’m starting this post off in a way you probably NEVER expected!!! I loved these two together. They are the perfect balance of shy and arrogant. Smart and sassy. All that aside – they are a fire that burns bright…… and then eventually dies out. As much as I love them together, I don’t think they will STAY together. I think that they will always remain friends, support each other, and carry a torch for each other – but they will always come back to being broken up like they were in the beginning of Illuminae. They’re just too different.

LINH CINDER & EMPEROR KAI – The Lunar Chronicles

I have VERY mixed feelings about this couple. In a way I love them together…… they were sweet, share the same values, and are very caring and passionate when it comes to the people they rule/influence. But I think that passion for the people is what will keep them apart. Neither one will feel like they can make the other a priority. They will constantly feel that they need to care for everyone else first which would cause a rift. I don’t think it will last.

DIMPLE SHAH & RISHI PATEL – When Dimple Met Rishi

This is one that DEFINITELY won’t last! They were cute enough for a summer fling, but not to stand the test of time. 1 – they’re far too young and immature. 2 – they are facing a lot of pressure from their parents. 3 – these two a brilliant minds with a drive to learn and have spectacular careers. They will be too focused on that to focus on a relationship. 4 – they couldn’t be more different! It would be cool if they lasted, but I think that there are better people out there for them. Especially for Rishi! He was so sweet and romantic and deserves someone that will soak in those details and appreciate it!

ELISABETH & NATHANIEL – Sorcery of Thorns

I REALLY liked these two as a couple! They challenge each other on a daily basis. They’re unexpected and keep each other on their toes. But Elisabeth has been so sheltered her whole life growing up in the library. She’s barely been able to experience the world! I don’t think that she’s quite ready to settle down. Even when she does settle down, it’s going to be in a library with the books that she loves so much……. truth! And Nathaniel….. he’s so damaged right now. He’s going to need to fix himself before he chooses a love to stick with.

Making this list was WAY harder than I thought! I know that as soon as I see some of the participants lists I’m going to smack myself across the face for not thinking of certain couples. That happens every week I swear!

I was going to add Ron and Hermoine from the Harry Potter series……. I HATE them together! But at the same time, a divorce would mean failure, and i’m not sure Hermoine would allow that to happen. But hey, a girl can hope, right? What couples do you think split after the book ended??
