Weekly Wrap Up – November 18 – 24

What freaking day is it??? I thought Friday was Saturday and then I thought Sunday was Saturday…… apparently it’s just Saturday in my world and no other day. My wrap up posts usually go up on Sunday’s but I apparently can’t figure out how to work a calendar, so it’s going up a day late lol! Work has been overwhelming – productive! But overwhelming. This week was also productive for reading as I managed to finish two books and start another! I haven’t read in the last few days, but I hope to remedy that this week and keep the momentum going 🙂

BOOKS I FINISHED THIS WEEK:

I’m proud to announce that I’ve finished TWO books that have been on my TBR for a very long time! RED SEAS UNDER RED SKIES by Scott Lynch is one that I’ve wanted to get to since I finished the first in the series but I was intimidated by its size. I was right to be intimidated….. it took me 18 days to read it! The font was so small and the book was long – but it was still SO worth it! Something happened in this book that had me sobbing like an idiot…. and it still haunts me 4 days later! It was a great read – though I still liked the first book more. Next I finished THE DIVINERS by Libba Bray. So many people had recommended this book to me and I flew right through it! A lot of people said that it was creepy and scary as hell. I didn’t think it was, at least not until the end. But i’m still so happy to have read it and hope to get to the sequel sooner than later. Reviews for both of these will be coming soon!

BOOKS I’M CURRENTLY READING:

Reverie

I’m not all that far into this one but I’m enjoying it so far! When the book opened we were introduced to a character who had driven his car into a historic building, it caught on fire, burnt the building down, then the police found him sitting catatonic in the river….. one hell of an opening! We’re immediately aware that something out of the ordinary happened that caused this accident but he himself doesn’t remember what it was. We’re also introduced to a person who knows more about the events than they should and there’s something deeper going on that needs covering up……. I can’t wait to unravel this story!! I have to ask the author a question by this Thursday for an exclusive Q&A so I want to have the book read before then!

OTHER BOOKISH NEWS:

TOP 5 TUESDAY:

This weeks topic was so much fun! It was the Top 5 books i’d rewrite – and the participants posts were AMAZING! So many great reasons and so many creative ways to warn (or hide) spoilers! This weeks though….. i’ve been waiting all month for! I want to know what the top 5 couples are that you don’t think stayed together.…… i’ll warm up the kettle, because there’s about to be some tea! (my daughter would be so proud of me for that comment!)

I’M FEELING BETTER!

So last week I talked all about my complete mental breakdown. For some reason my anxiety has been on high alert lately and it’s been weighing me down. This week was even busier than the last but yet i’m feeling better?? Makes no sense! I think that the difference is that I’ve been allowing myself to rest and relax…. what a concept! Yes, I’ve been working my ass off, but i’m not pushing myself to super hero extents. I work hard and do as much as I can in the time that I have, and that’s it. I also allowed myself to take an entire day off and sat on the couch with my dog and my coffee and read for the whole day! That was a HUGE help! Thank you everyone for all your support! I hope that this coming week will be more consistent for blogging 🙂

7 AWAY FROM 3,000??????

I can’t even! I am only 7 followers away from 3,000. I never, in a million years, expected that I would EVER get to this point! When I started the blog, my goal was 100 followers. I thought that was even out of reach. I am so grateful every day for all of you for becoming my book family!! I hope to do a giveaway at some point. I’m strapped financially with Christmas coming up, but hope that I can work something out in the new year maybe!

That was my week! I feel like my head is clearing and I’m excited for all the things again. I’m also starting to plan for 2020 and how I’m going to make things easier, organized, and keeping myself from being overwhelmed. I’m glad to “be back” and hope it lasts a while this time!! I hope you all had an amazing week and got lots of reading done!!!

Until next time, happy reading!

Glad you liked Diviners! 😀 It’s a good one and the end sure is creepy. So far, I like the second book more than the first and am looking forward to reading the third.

    1. 😂 I did hit 3000! And I never get the chance to blog hop anymore……. working two jobs, two kids, and baking once a week doesn’t give me any free time 😢

      1. I totally get that. I’ve been doing mini blog-hopping updates on my WWW posts. I ended up sorting my emails by person and working through them, but some people I am caught up on, and some people I haven’t read a post since October… it’s not a good way to do it!!
