Top 5 Authors I Need To Read!!!

If you’re reading this post then I’m sure you also have a TBR (to be read) pile that is so large it threatens to crush or suffocate you. My pile has been holding strong at over 100 for quite a few years now. And amongst that list are quite a few new authors that i’ve yet to experience. Why haven’t I read them yet? I always get side tracked by authors that I know I love! Honestly though – I’m afraid of finding more amazing authors and then my TBR pile becomes so large that it grows legs and horns and tries to kill me in my sleep. Here are 5 authors that you all rave about and I hope to get to them soon:

Top 5 Tuesday is a weekly meme where I explore different topics. If you are interested in participating I would love to have you! Here is a list of my Upcoming topics in November – please remember to ping back a specific post of mine so I get a notification and I will add you to the participants list!

The nightengale

KRISTIN HANNAH

I’m a huge fan of hard hitting historical fiction. I’ve been told that Kristin Hannah is one of the best. Her most recent novel The Nightingale has been getting a ton of buzz since its release. A few of her other books such as Firefly lane, Fly Away, Winter Garden, and Night Road also sound absolutely amazing! I have all of those sitting on my shelf (yes, I own 5 of her books and haven’t read a single one…… don’t judge me) and I hope yo get to them soon!

BRENT WEEKS

Being that I’m a huge fan of fantasy I’m a bit embarrassed to say that I haven’t read Brent Weeks yet! I love unique and complicated magic systems along with epic world building….. and I guess he does this in spades! The Lightbringer series and the Night Angel series are two very popular series in the fantasy world. I only own 7 of his books…….. son of a hell, I am a disgrace! I hope that after I read one of his books I can marathon them all!

The Goldfinch

DONNA TARTT

Right around the time I started seriously reading again, the Goldfinch was released. I remember walking around the book store trying to figure out what to read and this book was always staring at me in the face. Years later, when I became an active member in the book community, this book was STILL being talked about! Quite a few people I know say that she’s the most amazing writer. I hope to find out for myself sooner than later.

The star touched queen

ROSHANI CHOKSHI

Yet another author that I’ve heard amazing things about but I still haven’t read! I’ve heard that her novels have a way of sucking you into the world and not wanting to let go. I was so excited about this book so, the week it was published, I bought it……. but I still haven’t touched it 😦

Foundryside RD4 clean flat

ROBERT JACKSON BENNETT

Another fantasy and another author i’ve yet to pick up. Robert Jackson Bennett is another household name within the fantasy genre and there are a lot of books to choose from! There’s the newest, Foundryside, which everyone seems to love. There’s also The divine cities, and quite a few more. Some day…… soon

If I can get to all of these relatively soon then I would be the happiest book worm out there! I honestly could have made this list a top 10 or 20………. So many authors out there with a story to tell and only so much time to read them in! If only there was more time in a day. Which authors do you want to read?

Until next time, happy reading

I’ve got The Star Touched Queen as an ebook but still need to read it. I think the main authors that I really need to pick up some books by are V. E Schwab (I own about 7 on my Kindle and have the rest of her books on my TBR) & Marie Lu (I think I own just one of those but again everything’s on my TBR. They also both have books coming out next year that I literally can not wait for so I’d love to catch up on their current books before then.

  2. Read Goldfinch, it had good points but much too long. Hence it is a big thick daunting book, can see why put off it!

    1. That’s what I fear. I’ve heard mixed reviews. I might try the audiobook

  3. I highly recommend Roshani Chokshi. her writing style is amazing. And by the way, I tweaked this week’s topic because I don’t really have new-to-me author I want to read soon, or there are, like Donna Tart who’s in your list too but this month or maybe until the end of this year, I just want to read from authors I already trust. Anyway, I shared my reread authors instead.

  10. Brent Weeks is definitely on mine, especially given how excited people were for his newest books. Definitely read Robert Jackson Bennett! Foundryside was SO much fun, and the Divine Cities trilogy is weird but really good. Like I’ve actually finished the full trilogy good. (Given how many series I start and mean to continue with and don’t, this is big deal for me!)
