Top 5 Books On My Current TBR!

A.K.A. the list of books that I really freaking want to read right now lol! Which reminds me…… I totally forgot to post a TBR for November…. oops! I guess this is my TBR then lol! This topic is simple. Just a list of books that you really want to read. They could be books that are currently released or books that you’re anticipating. I feel like we’re always looking back at books we loved in the past and not looking forward to the books we still want to read! If you want to talk about some of the books you’re hoping to read soon, join in!

Want to know the funny thing? I literally just posted yesterday talking about the 5 books that I NEEDED to read in 2019 and how that was going for me. Spoiler alert – I’M A FAILURE! I have only read 1 book from that list so this should be me repeating the rest that I haven’t read. Spoiler alert again – it’s not lol

Top 5 Tuesday is a weekly meme where I explore different topics. If you are interested in participating I would love to have you! Here is a list of my Upcoming topics in November – please remember to ping back a specific post of mine so I get a notification and I will add you to the participants list!

The starless sea

Can you say perfect timing?? That’s because THE STARLESS SEA by Erin Morgenstern releases today!!!!! I got my shipping notification and this should be at my door by the end of the week. What is it about? I don’t have a damn clue! LOL! I just know that The Night Circus (which was her debut novel) was so well written and amazing that I was buying this no matter what it was about. I can’t wait!

Record of a spaceborn few

This book has made it on a few TBR lists this year. In fact, as soon as I bought RECORD OF A SPACEBORN FEW by Becky Chambers I put it on the end table where I keep all my immediate TBR books. It’s stayed there for months………. and I still haven’t read it lol! I think I’m apprehensive. I loved the first book in the series but the second one was so disappointing. I hope this one brings it back!

Finding christmas

I only bought FINDING CHRISTMAS by Karen Schaler a few weeks ago but I haven’t stopped thinking about it!! This book is everything that I love about the holidays – an adorable yet confusing romance that’s brought together by the magic of the holidays! I think that this book was written by the same woman that did a Christmas movie last year? Either way, I can’t wait to get to this one in a few weeks to get me into the Christmas mood!

I lied. This is the only book that I’ll be mentioning that was on that list of books I had to read in 2019 lol. Yes, I’m still dying to read this. But, realistically, I probably won’t get to it this year. Things have been hectic and this book is gigantic! THE BLACK PRISM by Brent Weeks is supposed to have one of the most amazing and unique magic systems and I can’t wait to see why everyone loves this series so much!

The empire of gold

Why?? Why do we have to wait until June to get our hands on this?!?!?!?!?! I am in agony waiting for THE EMPIRE OF GOLD by S.A. Chakraborty! The City of Brass, which is the first in the series, is a book that I refused to read. The hype was too strong and a lot of people didn’t seem to enjoy it. I got it on a massive deal and decided to give it a try. Now this series is one of my ALL TIME FAVOURITES! Her writing is flawless and sucks me in so deeply to the story that my reality is distorted. Honestly. So. Freaking. Good!!!!!!!!!

That ended up being a pretty good mix of upcoming releases, new releases, and books i’ve wanted to read since forever. A great librarian once said “Too many books, too few centuries.” I feel your pain sir.

Until next time, happy reading!

  2. It’s taken me a bit to get back into the swing of things, and I am so out of the loop concerning new book releases, so a lot of mine are somewhat older.
