Top 5 Favourite BookTube Channels!

I felt like this week was good for some change – instead of talking about the books we read, let’s talk about the channels that feed our bookish obsessions! I’m talking about the YouTube channels that continually add to our TBR piles and make us feel like we have someone else out there we can relate to. Watching bookish YouTube channels is a big part of why I got back into reading the way that I did. I found people that I enjoyed, with tastes similar to mine, and began making a massive list of all the books I wanted to read. Because of all of these channels I was able to find SO MANY books that I never would have taken a chance on otherwise. Here are 5 of my favourite current channels:

One of my absolute favourites from the beginning! Piera is an Australian with a similar obsession with fantasy – but, more specifically, an obsession with Jay Kristoff and Nevernight! Because of her channel I’ve come across so many great fantasy reads, both adult and YA. But it’s her personality that draws me in the most. She’s also the one responsible for an upcoming Nevernight mini series/movie!!! There isn’t a better casted Mia! I can’t wait!

Lala is a fellow Canadian and reads a lot of young adult, contemporary, and mysteries. The funny thing is, my reading tastes are almost the polar opposite of hers lol. So why follow someone when I don’t really like the books she reads? The motivation! She motivates me to read outside of my comfort zone (I don’t always dislike everything she reads lol), and most of all, she motivates me to read more! She’s constantly participating in readathons and it motivates the hell out of me! I want to read more! I pay attention to how much i’m reading a day. And I pay attention to distractions. But she’s hilarious and adorable and I wish we were friends lol.

Another one of the first channels I ever followed, this girl is responsible for me finding some of my favourite books! Ready Player One, The Name Of The Wind, The Book Thief, and so much more. She reads a lot of fantasy – and I mean A LOT! It was her channel that forced me to broaden my fantasy horizons!

Fellow blogger and Off The Grid Readathon co-host is now one of my biggest enablers…. I swear I can’t watch a single video without my TBR growing! Our reading tastes are one in the same so when she pulls out a new book I’m like “I need that book NOW!” Science fiction and fantasy are probably my two favourite genre’s and she’s always got a bunch of books that i’ve never heard of but then end up loving! She’s also got two adorable cats!

Another Canadian and another person that i’ve been following from the beginning! In fact, I’ve also met her multiple times and she lives only about an hour away from me (no, i’m not a stalker, so calm down). When I first started following her she was reading a ton of books a week and it gave me constant recommendations. I also love that she wasn’t set to a specific genre!

The newest addition to my YouTube subscriptions list, and one that I fell in love with immediately. I love her blog and following her on Twitter, but to see her speaking is something else entirely. She was born to be in front of a camera! If you like fantasy then you’re going to love her! And if you’re not following – you should be!
