Weekly Wrap Up – Sept 16 – 22

That was a week! It was a week of extreme high’s and low’s and basically nothing in between. Some really great things happened this week! I realized that the new medication i’m taking for my anxiety is helping and I feel like I can laugh and smile for the first time in years. I read 2 books this week, both of which were 5 stars! I ordered my new iPhone 11 in green and can’t wait to have a phone that doesn’t leave glass shards in my cheek when I talk lol. On the flip side there were some crappy things too. My grandma fell and broke her hip (she’s doing ok now!), and I screwed up a payment with the bank that resulted in me having a breakdown and crying for 4 hours straight. All in all, even including the hard things this week, it was still a good week! It was a lot of forward movement with my anxiety and I hope it only gets better from here!

I finished the second book in my Harry Potter reread and that was The Chamber of Secrets. This is my least favourite book in the series but it’s still 5 stars (how does that make sense?? lol) I will have my spoiler discussion post up this week 🙂

The second book I finished this week was The Grace Year by Kim Liggett………. omg this book was just incredible! I loved the writing, the atmosphere, the plot….. everything!!! It was hopeful and heartbreaking too. There was such a good balance to everything! I could go on and on forever about this book! It’s definitely going to land on my favourites list for 2019 but….. I can’t talk about it as much as I want to because, well, spoilers! My review will be posted on October 1st as a part of the blog tour with the publisher! I can’t wait to talk about this one!!!! Especially since it’s being turned into a movie that was optioned by Elizabeth Banks!

After my grandma broke her hip and I had my mental breakdown over the messed up bank payment, I didn’t read a whole lot. My brain was too distracted. But as soon as I pick something up, I think this will be the one! We are creeping up on my favourite month of the year for atmosphere and I’m craving something dark and creepy!

This weeks topic was a blast! It was the Top 5 funniest characters – and your lists were just amazing! There were so many people that the participants mentioned that made me want to smack my forehead off a table because I couldn’t believe I forgot them! This weeks list are you top 5 fall reading recommendations! I love the atmosphere of fall so much! And, being a mood reader, there are so many books that fit the mood of fall just perfectly! Tomorrow I will be posting the topics for October so keep your eyes peeled!

That’s right ladies and gents, I’m participating in the blog tour for one of my new favourite books! When I was asked by the publisher to participate in this tour, I was excited for the chance to read this BUT I wasn’t expecting this book to blow me away. Little did I know, this book would consume me! This book made me think, fall in love, tense with suspense, yell in excitement, and hope for the future. I didn’t expect the impact this book would have on me! I can’t wait to post my review on October 1st and tell you all about it!

Fall is my favourite time of year!! The falling leaves, the smells, the temperatures, halloween, pumpkins, comfort food….. all of it! So I updated a few small things on the blog to celebrate. The blog header changed and I love the colours! Also the divider I used is a line of fall coloured trees 🙂 See directly below lol

That was my rollercoaster week! I’m simultaneously drained yet energized – it’s confusing! The medication helped so much until I was faced with some really stressful situations. BUT – at the end of this week I was able to look at the week as still a success and I felt like I got through the hard things a little easier because of it. I hope this means a new me!! And I hope you all had a fantastic week 🙂

Until next time, happy reading!

I started medication for anxiety in July, and it blew me away at how different I felt. Like, there was a space in my body that hadn’t been there, and I could sit quietly and breathe.
    Have a good reading week!
