Top 5 Series I Need To Finish!

I think the real reason I made this a topic is because of my guilty conscience…. I’ve been AWFUL at finishing series lately! I used to be so good at keeping up with books. If the books were published then I would marathon them and finish things up as soon as possible. Lately, it’s like I completely forget that a series exists! I’m not that bad….. but it feels like it! Here are 5 series that I really need to finish/continue:

Top 5 Tuesday is a weekly meme where I explore different topics. If you are interested in participating I would love to have you! Here is a list of my Upcoming topics in September – please remember to ping back a specific post of mine so I get a notification and I will add you to the participants list!

Hounded

Part of the reason why I haven’t finished the Iron Druid Chronicles is because it’s quite the lengthy series – I think it’s 9 books long if I’m not mistaken….. and there may be more! I don’t know why I haven’t continued though. There such a quite and enjoyable read!!! I’m 3 books in and really craving being back in this world!

The lies of Locke Lamora

When I read Locke Lamora, I was so obsessed with this world and the characters! This was one of the best written fantasy novels that I’ve EVER read! Everyone told me that it was amazing but I didn’t think it would be THAT amazing! I was thoroughly convinced that I would pick up the sequel to the Gentleman Bastard series immediately…… and it’s been sitting on my side table for months…… intentions are good, but not strong enough to make me pick it up yet!

Red sister

Yet another fantasy makes the list! This time it’s the Book Of The Ancestors Series by Mark Lawrence. I had wanted to read Mark Lawrence for the LONGEST time! And when I read the first book in the series, I finally understood why fantasy lovers loved his books so much! I fell for the world, the magic, the characters, and so much more. I think that the entire trilogy is now published…… so there’s no real reason why I haven’t gotten to this yet!!

Outlander

I’m sure you’ve seen Outlander already – either the book or the show. If you’ve seen the books, then you know why I haven’t continued this series…… these books are gigantic! I mean, they’re thick enough to be a literal brick in a building…. I’m not joking! I think that they’re all around the 1,000 page mark and it’s intimidating as all hell! I think that I managed to read Outlander in less than a week, so I really need to stop being so scared because that book was INCREDIBLE!!!

The Cuckoos calling

And lastly we have the Cormoran Strike series by Robert Galbraith (J.K. Rowling). I’m not a fan of detective mysteries at all, but this is one that I actually enjoyed. The detective in this series (Cormoran Strike) actually isn’t your typical detective type, so that made it easier. The fifth book in this series is yet to have a title, and I still haven’t gotten past book 1. And I own the next two in the series…… excuses excuses! LOL!

There is my list of shame. I might also mention that I own almost all of the sequels to the books in this series….. I have them in my hands yet I still haven’t gotten to them! Do I have commitment issues?! I’m starting to think that I’ve got a problem! Let’s see how long it takes me to remedy this post! What series do you still need to finish?

Until next time, happy reading!

  2. I’m not against reading series, but I am definitely not drawn to them for some reason. Probably because I know I want to read all kinds of books rather than sticking to a set. That being said, A Cuckoo’s Calling is sitting on my nightstand waiting to be read.

You will love Locke and Atticus’ stories. The good thing about Atticus (kind of) is his story is finished. Locke’s is still pending.
The Outlander books are mostly wonderful . I love the story as a whole but some of the books are way better than others. Of course, I read them all in like 7 days so maybe I went through a bit fast ;).
Cormoran is one of my favorite detectives of ever. Those books get better with each one.
I need a really good series beginner.

I really need to read Red Sister sometime, it sounds amazing. I have loads of series that I need to finish – Throne Of Glass, Dark Days Club, And I Darken, Dark Artifices – but it’s been a while since I read the first ones so I want to reread them first then somehow never get round to it.
