Weekly Wrap Up – July 29 – Aug 4

After my epic reading week that was last week (where I managed to read 5 books), I was able to finally calm down and read relaxed this week! Well, sort of. This week ended up being yet another exciting bookish week! I have a lot to talk about (including a REALLY EXCITING announcement) so let’s get to it!

Oh how I love this book!!! This is the third time reading it and this time I took notes! I’ll be posting a picture with all the tags sticking out…. there are a lot! I also wrote on big lined post it notes with all the important plot points along with my thoughts. I read this so fast the first time around so I forgot quite a few of the details. This time – I missed nothing! Seriously though, Jay Kristoff is one of the most unforgiving authors out there…… his characters drop like flies and in the most terrifying and messy ways…… and I’m here for it!

After finishing Nevernight, I immediately picked up Godsgrave. This is only the second time reading it and I think I missed more of this book than I did Nevernight! I know that sometimes when there is a change in scenery as drastic as it was in this series (aka, no more Red Church), it can sometimes lose its appeal. But I actually love the setting of this book! Now that I have my copy of Darkdawn here (check out my Instagram @bionic_book_worm for this book in all its glory!) I’m going to try an not rush my way through Godsgrave just to get to Darkdawn. Yes, I’m DYING to crack open book 3…. but I need to properly prepare!

This week was the last week for the alphabet titles series……. insert sad face! I’m really going to miss this series! I may need to repeat it next year? It was too much fun! This week was also the most difficult letters – U, V, W, X, Y, Z Sadly I didn’t have one for X, but a lot of the participants did! This week is the first of the August Topics and that is…. Top 5 books under 300 pages! Let’s give some love to the little guy 🙂

I teased on Twitter that there was going to be an announcement today and I’m so excited! This is something that i’ve wanted to do since I started the blog. I love watching bookshelf tours on YouTube and i’ve been wracking my brain trying to figure out a way to get this idea to transfer to a blog. I think I’ve got it! There will probably be room for improvement BUT, beginning on August 23rd, I will be starting a BOOKSHELF TOUR SERIES!!! This series will continue every Friday until December. I didn’t really want to prolong it that long, but I also didn’t want to do a post that would take you 4 hours to read lol. Each week will feature roughly 20-30 books and will only include the books i’ve read – no TBR books. Every other week I normally did the First Impression Friday posts, but that will be placed on hold until this series is over. I can’t wait to share with you!!

So many exciting things happening! A Nevernight reread, Darkdawn, a new blog series, and so much more! I’m going to be going on a family vacation very soon so keep an eye out for a short hiatus announcement. I’ve also been focusing a lot lately on my Instagram. I’ve got quite a few posts planned and I’ve been wanting to find some new people to follow. Find me @bionic_book_worm and I’ll follow back!

Until next time, happy reading!
