Top 5 Books That Start With U-V-W-X-Y-Z

Happy Top 5 Tuesday everyone!! This is the last week of July’s “themed” topics where we will be making lists of books that start with corresponding letters. I can’t believe it’s over! This themed month was soooooo much fun! I think that I’m going to create more topics where we mention books we don’t talk about enough. There are just so many of them!!!

Same thing as last week, i’m using this opportunity to talk about some books that I don’t get to very often. There are so many books that I really enjoyed but I always mention the all time favourites first! So, if there was an all time favourite that started with a certain letter, I will choose something else just to give another book some time in the spotlight. This weeks letters are U-V-W-X-Y-Z….. yes, there are 6 letters and not 5…… but these are the hardest ones!!! Here we go 🙂

Top 5 Tuesday is a weekly meme where I explore different topics. If you are interested in participating I would love to have you! Here is a list of my Upcoming Topics in August – please remember to ping back a specific post of mine so I get a notification and I will add you to the participants list!

Unearthed

U – UNEARTHED by Amie Kaufman and Meagan Spooner
Though this book was missing a few marks in my opinion, you can’t deny that the writing was amazing! It was one of the most vividly written sci-fi adventures I’ve read in a while! And it was super fast paced! I still want to get to the sequel soon!!

vengeance-road

V – VENGEANCE ROAD by Erin Bowman
Sadly, I still haven’t read this one….. and it wasn’t for lack of trying. I actually tried to read this a while back (3 times actually….) and it didn’t capture my attention at all. I think that it might stay in DNF territory. But that cover………. one of the best covers out there!!

With the fire on high

W – WITH THE FIRE ON HIGH by Elizabeth Acevedo
This is hands down the best YA contemporary i’ve ever read! This book was just SO FREAKING GOOD! I can’t find a single fault with it and actually related to it WAY more than I expected to. I love the story, the characters, the writing…. everything!!

You bring the distant near

Y – YOU BRING THE DISTANT NEAR by Mitali Perkins
Yet another book that surprised me to no end! There are so many multi-generational stories out there that want to showcase the differences between culture, the changes a family goes through, time and events making changes in their lives, and the things that keep them all together. But this one did it better than any other one i’ve read. I changed my mind so often with these characters. As they grew and changed, so did my opinions. I could go on forever!

Zodiac

Z – ZODIAC by Romina Russell
I don’t think i’ve ever read a book where astrological signs played a role in characters lives, but this one made it play a role in literally everyones life! And damn was it well done! There was political intrigue, fast paced action, adventure, and a world that was enormous! So much going on but, because it was so well written, it was never overwhelming. I love this book! And I’m a little shocked that I had a book for the letter Z!

That’s all folks! Every last letter of the alphabet…. well, minus X for me because…… is there even an X book out there? I’m sure the participants will have one lol. The last few weeks have been the most fun i’ve had with Top 5 Tuesday! I honestly wish there were more letters in the alphabet just so we could keep this going! If anyone has any suggestions for themes we could do in the future, please let me know!

Until next time, happy reading!

    I didn’t have an ‘X’ book either! But we both picked Unearthed for U. I haven’t V, W, or Y yet!
