Top 5 “Main Males”

I feel like men in books often take the backseat. We always seem to talk about bad ass females who are strong, confident, fearless, and take the world by storm. But what about the guys?!?! Strangely enough, I almost always attach to a male character before a female. I’ve always gotten along better with guys, and understood their humour more than girls. I did a post like this a while ago where I mentioned 5 guys that are still in my heart today. To see that list click HERE (Hint – Rhysand was one of them!) Here are 5 new men that grabbed ahold of my attention and won’t let go:

Top 5 Tuesday is a weekly meme where I explore different topics. If you are interested in participating I would love to have you! Here is a list of my Upcoming topics in June – please remember to ping back a specific post of mine so I get a notification and I will add you to the participants list!

The lies of Locke Lamora

The first leading male I want to mention is Locke Lamora. This guy is a man like no other. I think that he killed his first person before the age of 6 if I’m remembering right. He always had the right answers, always had a plan B (C,D,E,F and G too), an unwavering faith that something would save his ass, and a fearlessness that should have gotten him killed about 500 times over.

Red white and royal blue

More recent favourites: Alex and Henry! Though they were very different people, I feel the need to mention them together as a package (no pun intended). They’re both men in high public and government standing, who want love and happiness when it could cost them everything. The two of them together were life goals! They completed each other, balancing out their strengths and weaknesses. I couldn’t love these two more than I already do!

Hounded

The next amazing male I want to talk about is NOT talked about enough! And that’s Atticus O’Sullivan. He’s a druid that is literally thousands of years old. He kind of reminds me of Kaz Brekker from Six of Crows. He’s always got a plan A, B, C, D, and more, but it’s more to do with experience. He’s totally brilliant, don’t get me wrong, but he has thousands of years of experience in every situation imaginable. But I really do love his smart-assery. He’s always got just the right amount of sarcasm and wit!

Every heart a doorway

Next up is Kade Bronson, who is, in my opinion, a very underrated character in this series! Literally from the moment he was introduced, I fell in love with this character. He always seemed to have such a sweet and open heart, and was willing to do what he could to make those who joined them comfortable. He seems more worried for the happiness of everyone around him opposed to his own happiness. I can’t wait for the series to continue so we can get more from him!!

Outlander

Last, but CERTAINLY not least, we have Jamie Fraser…….. oh dear god Jamie! This is the only man on this list that isn’t here for his humour, hijinks, sarcasm, and fearlessness. He’s here because I want him as my husband (Yeah, my actually husband never reads by blog so….. he will never need to know!! LOL!). This man is …….. sigh! Brave, bold, strong, sweet, protective, and sexy as hell! I’ve needed to get to the sequel for a while now but I just haven’t made the time. I need to make time for this man though!!!

There they are folks! My top 5 men in books recently! There are quite a few more that I could have mentioned but I was really trying to switch things up a bit. A few of these were recent reads, while a few are men (and books) that I don’t think are talked about enough! Next weeks topic is top 5 fantasy (oh….. that’s going to be a tough one). Also next week I will be releasing the topics for July………. I’ve been wanting to spill the beans about  this themed month for a while now! Soon my fellow bookworms, soon!

Until next time, happy reading!
