Is it that time already?! Time, where have you gone? I feel like I literally just wrote this post a couple days ago. But, here we are, another 2 weeks have passed, and it’s time to talk about my first impressions. I’ve read 4 books over the last two weeks and my first impressions of them were interesting to say the least!!! Here we go….
MY FIRST IMPRESSIONS – My first impressions of this book were NOT GOOD AT ALL. In fact, I hated it. I was so confused! I didn’t know who was who, what the timeline actually was, what they were talking about, and where this book could possibly be going. I even went a little further into the book, reading the first three chapters, hoping that the extra pages would help me get my head on straight. No. It didn’t help. I guessed that I would rate this book 1 star or DNF it…..
HOW I RATED IT – if that wasn’t the most spectacular turn around in my first impressions, I don’t know what is!!!! I went from not wanting to finish this book to absolutely loving it! This book was far more dark and twisted than I could have imagined! And, once the timelines and perspectives were fully explained, I actually fell in love with the different characters and how their perspectives played off of each other! I ended up rating this 5 stars!!
MY FIRST IMPRESSIONS – Oh how I was so excited to be back in this world! I loved books 1 and 2. I loved the sister dynamic, and the magic and mystery that the games brought to the table. I was so excited to finally have this series come to a close. I guessed that I would rate this 4 stars…..
HOW I RATED IT – For the second time in a row, my first impressions were wrong again. I ended up rating this one 3 stars…… in fact, I might have even rated this one a little lower now that I’ve had some time to reflect. This was a disappointing end that seemed to have lost everything that I loved about the series.
MY FIRST IMPRESSIONS – I was very confused and conflicted about this book after the first chapter. On one hand I was in love with the writing! I loved the style and the tone quite a bit more than expected. I felt that there was an important story to tell. But on the other hand, the main character seemed to be a spoiled, sheltered, arrogant girl who’s only focus or care was being popular. If she kept on that way, I guessed that I would rate this 3 stars…..
HOW I RATED IT – Luckily, there was a lot of change that happened in this book! I read the last few pages with tears in my eyes…. it was so beautiful! This also ended up featuring one of my favourite friendships in books. It was so real, raw, and enlightening. I really loved this!!! I ended up rating it 4 stars…… I might even change that to a 4.5!!
MY FIRST IMPRESSIONS – I knew within the first two pages that this was going to be everything that I wanted it to be! I loved the main character immediately and all the fire I knew she had in her. This is one of those books that immediately puts a smile on your face as you anticipate the pages to come. I guessed that I would rate this book 4 stars…..
HOW I RATED IT – FINALLY I guessed one right lol. This was such a great story to lose yourself in. It was every bit the light, fun, relaxing romance I hoped for. I can’t wait to continue with the series!
I think that this is the first time that I’ve been so drastically wrong about so many books in a row! 3 books in a row that I guessed completely wrong. Some for better, and some for worse. It’s times like this that prove you can’t make an assumption about a story until you have the whole picture in your hands.
Until next time, happy reading!
