Weekly Wrap Up – June 3 – June 10

I’ve been sitting here for the last hour trying to figure out how to write this post. Thing is – how do you wrap up a week you don’t remember?! I thought that I would fake it but, as I said, an hour later and the page is still blank. I stopped taking my anxiety medication this week. I’ve been bringing the dosage down for the last 2 months in order to do this safely. The effects haven’t been as bad as they could have been! But I’ve been dealing with massive brain fog, loss of memory (and time), body shocks, headaches, and flu like symptoms. It’s a little unnerving to know that a medication can have this much of an affect on your mind and body. Luckily though – I remember everything about the books I read! Goes to show where my priorities are lol! Here’s what I read this week:

The first book I finished this week was FINALE by Stephanie Garber. This was NOT the ending I hoped for. It was ok. It kept me somewhat entertained. But in comparison to the first two books, this one just didn’t measure up. The second book I finished this week was WHEN THE GROUND IS HARD by Malla Nunn. It took me a little while to fall into the groove of this one, but in the end it was really wonderful!! Full review for both of these to come this week 🙂

A princess in theory

I ended up starting A PRINCESS IN THEORY by Alyssa Cole by the bon fire last night and I’m loving it! I love the characters and the situation that they immediately threw themselves into. I have a feeling that I’m going to make it through this one quickly! This is just the light, fun, read that I need right now! I’ve heard so many good things about this author and this series – I can’t wait to power through this one as quickly as possible!

This weeks topic was Top 5 Debut Novels – and what a topic that was! There were quite a few that stunned me. Like Carrie was Stephen King’s first novel?! Really? I had no idea! This week though……. I mean, this is a BIG one! I want to know what your top 10 ALL TIME FAVOURITES are! I was going to keep it to a top 5 list but…. that wouldn’t be fair! I won’t have time to comment on your posts (see reasons below!) but be sure that I’ll read every single post and get you added to the list as soon as I can. I’ll also have my Chapters Indigo app at the ready to add all of the books you’ll be gushing about!

So I’m not sure if you’ve ever had this happen….. but this week, all the comments went missing. And by all, I mean – ALL! They were there one second then the app shut itself down. When it came back, there was nothing to respond to. So, if you commented on by blog this week and I didn’t answer….. it’s because WordPress ate it……

This week is going to be INSANE!!! Work is busy, multiple doctors appointments, coming down off of my anxiety meds, kids finishing up with school, prepping for my daughter’s graduation…… there won’t be much time for blogging! I plan on keeping up with Top 5 Tuesday, and the few reviews that I have to post….. and that’s going to be it. I won’t have time to comment either. I haven’t disappeared….. I’m just busy….. or wordpress ate your comment…..

Though I don’t recall anything that happened this week, I will say that I’m just happy my reading motivation is sticking around! And the week I have ahead of me….. I’m going to be ever so thankful that I have books to keep me sane! Hope you had an amazing week filled with smiles, laughter, and books!!!

Until next time, happy reading!

  1. Hope this coming week is so MUCH Better than the last for you Shanah. Also, I’m not a big Stephen King fan but I liked everything I’ve read from him and was surprised to know Carrie is his debut.

  2. WordPress can be the worst!! Like when it does links that don’t link!! 🤬🤯
Good luck with next week – I feel like it’s going to be pretty insane for everyone involved.

    1. Or just “everyone”… I don’t know why I typed ‘involved’ 😂

Hope this week is good xx

I loved Finale…..but how different was it from the previous 2 books, romancey to the fullest (but I loved that!!)

  4. I have been saving the last two of the Caravel books to read together once Finale released, but now I just haven’t gotten to them. *fail*
I hope this week goes well for you. Take good care of yourself!

Sorry Finale didn’t live up to your expectations. I’m just sad my library doesn’t have either Legendary or Finale, so it’ll be awhile before I get to read them. Hope your week goes well!

I’m doing Top 5 Tuesday this week! But I’m sticking with a list of just 5! Crazy, I know, but we are so busy lately (visiting with family). Thank goodness I already have a “favorites” list on Goodreads to make it easier for me to sift through everything I’ve read.

Hope things go better for you this week!
