Hello there summer – it’s been a while! The last few days have been really warm here in Ontario Canada. 70-80 degree weather is a most welcome change after a long winter! And what’s better than reading a book while at the beach, by the pool, or while camping?? Honestly, it’s something that I look forward to all winter! And, for some reason, I tend to go out of my comfort zone a little in the summer…. I love reading romances, thrillers, contemporary, and mystery! I’m doing things a little differently today so it’s technically a top 6 (Rulebreaker!) I’ll be recommending two books for 3 categories. Let’s get to it!
Top 5 Tuesday is a weekly meme where I explore different topics. If you are interested in participating I would love to have you! Here is a list of my Upcoming topics in June – please remember to ping back a specific post of mine so I get a notification and I will add you to the participants list!
ROMANTIC RECOMMENDATIONS:
Looking for a little love to lighten your heart this summer? For me, summer is the perfect time to get lost in a sweet and gooey romance. Here are two that I LOVED and hope you will too!! Red, White and Royal Blue is my most recently read book (see the full review here) and this would be perfect for a light yet hard hitting read! The President’s son and the Prince of England unexpectedly fall in love, regardless of the fact that it’s basically forbidden and impossible. But damn this book was good! At The Stroke of Midnight (see the full review here) is a book that blew me away! It has amazing characters, a great plot, and a lot of girl power! Perfect for a beach read!
SPOOKY STORIES TO READ BY THE CAMPFIRE:
If you’re looking for a spooky ghost story to read by the campfire, then look no further! These two have just the perfect amount of goosebumps inducing ghosts and things that go bump in the night! Both The Haunted and My Best Friends Exorcism make you question reality and wonder if all of this is really real….. I absolutely loved both of these!
FANTASY THAT LETS YOU ESCAPE:
If you’re looking to escape reality, and jump into a fast paced fantasy world, these are the two for you! Both The Wrath and the Dawn and The City of Brass are set in sandy, desert climates and are so fast paced they’ll make your head spin! They both offer a little bit of magic and romance….. what more do you need??

OMG I read all three Naughty Princess Club books in under 72 hours based on your rec and I now love you. And Tara Sivec. Seriously, recommend me everything from now on. You’re in charge of my TBR. 😂

Bwahahahaha!!! Omg I’m dying laughing right now!! You read them all within 72 hours?! Dang girl! Ok I have another recommendation for you but I haven’t read them yet!! I plan to within the next week or two. It’s the reluctant royals series by Alyssa Cole. It starts off with A Princess in Theory. I read the first chapter a couple days ago and love it!!
Since reading that series I’ve bought two more Tara Sivec books. I’ve heard the chocolate and seduction series by her is just as good!
There you go – that should keep you busy for a while….. 😂

People need to stop recommending Red, White and Royal Blue because I won´t be able to get my hands on it until a few weeks and its hard, so hard! Hahaha.

Hahahahaha!! I feel your pain. I knew so many people that read the ARC and wouldn’t stop talking about it! It only just published in Canada. I hope you LOVE it once you can get your hands on it!!

For real. It kind of reminded me of those old school video games back in the day with those illustrated covers. Immaculate.
