Top 5 “Unputdownable” Reads!

Let me be honest – I HATE the word “unputdownable” when someone is trying to describe a book. But only if it’s used as a selling point. Don’t tell me that something is “unputdownable”….. let me decide that for myself! LOL! But, you can’t deny, that it’s a great descriptive word once you’ve read it! And there have been quite a few books over the years that I just couldn’t put down! They drove the NEED to know what was going to happen next and I wanted to stay up until 4am just to find out! Here are 5 books that I wanted to finish ASAP!

Top 5 Tuesday is a weekly meme where I explore different topics. If you are interested in participating I would love to have you! Here is a list of my Upcoming topics in May – please remember to ping back a specific post of mine so I get a notification and I will add you to the participants list!

the-martian

THE MARTIAN by Andy Weir

This was THE book that kickstarted my obsession with science fiction. And this book also drove me insane! He’s stranded on Mars! How is he going to survive?! How is he going to get out of this shit storm?! Is he going to get rescued in time?! Why is he so damn funny when he’s literally marooned on a freaking planet all alone?!?!?! I had to know!

ACOMAF

A COURT OF MIST AND FURY by Sarah J Maas

I know that quite a few of you have read this one, so I doubt that I’ll need to explain my obsession. BUT, if you haven’t read this yet, then let me tell you! A woman turned Fae realizing that everything she thought was turned on its head and now she was surrounded by a sexy man who wants to give her everything yet wants her to be strong enough to do it herself…… yup. That’s why!

dark-matter

DARK MATTER by Blake Crouch

This is one of my all time favourites and it literally blew my mind! The first chapter was a little hard to wrap my mind around but, once you realize what’s really happening, I couldn’t stop reading! This was such an insane and terrifying plot, fuelled by a mans need to get back to his family and having no clue how in the world (worlds??) to do that. This was such a twisting and turning book that has me still thinking about it!

The hunger games

THE HUNGER GAMES TRILOGY by Suzanne Collins

Back in January of 2011, I had a surgery and was forced to stay in bed. It drove me crazy! I couldn’t lift more than 2 pounds so….. I decided to pick this book up. 2 days later and I had read the entire trilogy……. I don’t think that I slept! And I don’t regret a single minute of it!

the seven husbands of evelyn hugo

THE SEVEN HUSBANDS OF EVELYN HUGO by Taylor Jenkins Reid

Oooohhh this book! This was so well written and the characters were so entrancing, I couldn’t help but be completely sucked into this story! I figured that this would be an annoying story of a selfish hollywood starlet….. that assumption couldn’t have been more wrong! The story of this womans life was so heartbreaking and heartwarming all at once. I didn’t want to miss a single thing about this book!

TOP 5 TUESDAY PARTICIPANTS:

Flower divider

Those are the books that made me want to read cover to cover without stopping! To all of my participants – the curse of the Tuesday continues. Work deadlines and a pool liner replacement is happening today……… I made this meme on a Tuesday because it was after the chaos of Monday. It USED to be the slowest day of the week…… whatever happened to that?!?!?!?! Send help……. or puppies……. or cupcakes…… either one will do!

What books did you want to read as quickly as possible?

Until next time, happy reading!

Well, “The Hunger Games” might be one of the books that I’d regret that I haven’t read when it was the time. I believe it’s a little too late now for this type. As for ACOMAF almost the same, I was impressed with this book back in the day.

  21. The Hunger Games trilogy is both an easy read and extraordinarily compelling so it’s no wonder that these are unputdownable! I had Catching Fire on my list but it really goes for all three! I haven’t read Evelyn Hugo but she is everywhere so I need to get on that!

    Liked by 1 person

  22. I read the hunger games without putting it down as well! The books are so good ❤️

  23. I can soo relate to that feeling about The Hunger Games. I litterary threw my copy of Cathing Fire away and ran to the store to buy the next book when I read that last sentence. My parents thought I was crazy, so I had to call them on the subway to explain it all hahaha

    Liked by 1 person

    1. SERIOUSLY?! This is hilarious! You didn’t even tell them you were leaving until you were on the subway?! This made me laugh SO hard!!

      1. I kind of screamed out something ununderstandible and ran hahaha. Then the call cleared everything up and then they realized how weird their kid was 😛
