Weekly Wrap Up – May 13 – 19

My post is late today…. and for good reason! This week was horrendous. So many things went wrong and it was a huge struggle just to make it through each day. My anxiety was worse than it’s ever been and I was even feeling like I was on the verge of depression. Then – Saturday happened! I finally felt like a cloud had been lifted and I was a little more like myself. Yesterday was such a great day! I got a lot of work done, the sun was shining, I spent time laughing with my kids, went for ice cream and my dog had her first ever ice cream cone (omg it was ADORABLE!), I had a drink with my neighbour while our kids played, my husband went fishing and then we went out for beers and appetizers after! It was so much fun! I ended up sleeping in today and here we are….. late….. and I’m ok with that! lol

Dark shores

Well…. this was a surprise! I knew that I was going to enjoy Dark Shores. It basically had everything that I hoped for in a book; magic, a bad ass lady pirate, secrets, politics…. and so much more! But what I didn’t expect was how hard I would fall for this book AND the writing style! There was something about the writing style that I quickly became obsessed with! It was just so good! My only regret was that it took me so long to read it lol. Review coming tomorrow!

I plan to start this one today! I wanted to start it a while ago….. I only have a blog tour post in 2 days but NO PRESSURE! I’ve heard so many great things about Meredith Russo and I’m happy to finally get the chance to find out what she’s all about 🙂

This week was a list of your Top 5 Magical Creatures – and I love me some magical creatures! I do need to apologize to some of the participants though. WordPress has been really weird sending me notifications. There are a few of you that I didn’t get a notification until just 2 days ago…… thanks for that wordpress! So I will get you added…… I’m just sorry I’m late! There are times that WordPress sends me notifications for posts that were done 2 weeks ago…. 2 WEEKS! So please, if I don’t add you, send me a message! I might not have been sent a notification! This weeks topic is……. “top 5 unputdownable reads!”

Let’s all do a dance of joy…. I think my reading mojo is back! I’m not holding my breath though. But this slump seriously needs to take a hike! This week though, I was looking at my shelves and felt the need to read them all! No matter the size, the genre…. I just wanted to read it! I even bought a couple books this week (…….. ok so it was more than a couple but SHHHHH!) and I’m just so excited for all of them! My haul this week is going to be so exciting and all over the place!

Thank you all so much for the birthday wishes! I have read them all but I haven’t had the chance to respond yet. The hectic week took me away from the blog this week, and being able to comment. But seeing all of your messages and comments made it a little bit easier to handle the chaos this week. Thank you all so much!

So that was my week. A little all over the place but I feel like I’m finally getting on the track to being normal again…. as if I was ever normal! LOL! I’m really looking forward to a summer time full of reading by the pool and that’s literally all I can think of! I hope you all had an amazing week!

To make my day even better – tell me ONE thing that made you happy this week! My one thing is my dog eating her first ice cream cone. I’m not kidding – it was the cutest thing I’ve ever seen! She was so timid and scared to eat it. Then when she realized how good it was, she tried to eat the whole thing in one shot! Here she is:

Until next time, happy reading!

What a rollercoaster of a week! Glad it ended good though! The crazy ups and downs are one of the worst things about mental health but you’ve got this☺️ I’ve also been in a slump recently, I think I need to buy some new books to get out of it (that’s not just an excuse!😉)

I’m so so sorry to hear that most of your week was a total bust. 💔 I’m glad to hear it ended well, though? This upcoming week is going to be amazing for you – I’ve decided. 🤣 I just added Dark Shores to my TBR – lady pirates? SIGN ME UP!

Hmm one thing that made me happy this week. One of the girls at work asked if I wanted to see Tolkien with them and it just… cheered me up so much? I’ve been feeling sort of humdrum and lonely and I think the offer just made my week. 😊 Now we need to make proper plans.
