April 2019 Book Haul!

I know you’re not going to believe me BUT – I was a really good girl this month! I only bought 4 books this month….. all 4 were on my kindle and I spent less than 10$ total! I ended up spending any extra money I had on Funko pops……… I’ll show you those next week in my favourites post! On top of the 4 books I bought, I also got 3 ARC’s in the mail….. all of which I can’t wait to talk about! So let’s get to it!

BOOKS I BOUGHT THIS MONTH:

The first book I’m going to mention is Behind Her Eyes by Sarah Pinborough. When I did the top 5 Tuesday topic about mysteries and thrillers, this is one of the books that a fellow blogger SCREAMED at me to read! I was absolutely convinced that I’m going to love it. So when it showed up as a kindle daily deal, I knew it was fate! The next book I got is Salt Houses by Hala Alyan. This book has been on my wish list for MONTHS. When it was first released, it was over 30$ and I couldn’t justify it. I waited for the paperback and then I just didn’t get around to it. This cover is absolutely GORGEOUS!

The next book I have to talk about is one that I’ve had on my wish list for well over a year now. I first heard about THE GEEK’S GUIDE TO UNREQUITED LOVE by Sarvenaz Tash back in 2017 I think and I’ve wanted to read it ever since. For some reason I’ve just never picked it up! Next is INTO THE DROWNING DEEP by Mira Grant…… who is also known as Seanan McGuire! I am so in love with the Every Heart a Doorway series that I’ve decided I’ll read basically anything she writes. It will be interesting to see what she does outside of that series!

ARC’S I GOT THIS MONTH:

The next two books I got from Penguin Canada and I can’t wait to dive in! THE HAUNTED by Danielle Vega is a HIGHLY anticipated read! A girl moves to a new town and finds out that the fixer upper house she moved into is actually haunted…… yes please!!!! WHEN THE GROUND IS HARD by Malla Nunn is a story about two people who are in a boarding school, struggling with bullies, prejudice, and more, come together through a shared copy of Jane Eyre. I don’t need to know much else to know that I want to read it! Not to mention – the covers for both of these are beautiful!!!

The last book I got this month was from Raincoast Books Canada (Flatiron Books) and that is Birthday by Meredith Russo. Though I’m not a fan of the cover, the story sounds interesting! Two people were born on the same day. Their shared birthday gives them a connection and constantly brings them together. Though this isn’t the type of book I normally gravitate towards, there’s something about a book about connections that I love! I’m actually going to be a part of the blog tour on May 21st! So check back with my review 🙂

There’s my haul for the month! Quite tame……. but next month probably won’t be lol! May is my birthday month so I hope there are a few shopping sprees in the coming month!
