Weekly Wrap Up – April 1 – 7

What an incredible way to end this week! Spring has been a big tease so far, but this weekend was just SOOO nice! We were in the high 60’s and there was tons of sunshine! As far as work – we got a ton of orders finished and shipped out. With all our productivity AND the amazing weather – I ALMOST feel like a normal human this week!!!! It feels good to be back 🙂 I also managed to finish TWO books this week….. who am I??? Superwoman….. that’s who I am!! Here’s what happened in my bookish life this week:

THE BINDING by Bridget Collins <—– click for full review – 2.5 stars
The first book that I finished this week was an ARC for The Binding by Bridget Collins. It wasn’t an awful book but it wasn’t even close to what I was expecting, nor was it the right book for me. I think that this was a case of me expecting one type of story after reading the synopsis and not being in it for the moment. There was also something about it that I just couldn’t relate to. I can’t even pinpoint it either!

THE LIES OF LOCKE LAMORA by Scott Lynch – review to come soon
OMG This book was a god damn masterpiece!!! It somehow too every single element that I could have asked for in a fantasy and brought it up 50 notches. I still haven’t written/posted my review for this…… I honestly don’t know how I’ll form the words! Keep an eye out for a review soon (most likely Wednesday)

The Bear

I’m currently reading (and almost finished with) The Bear by Claire Cameron. I was so excited for this one for so many reasons! She’s a Canadian author and it’s set in my favourite part of Ontario – Algonquin Park! Sadly though, this book has been a massive struggle and I’m not really enjoying it as much as I thought I would. I’m waiting to see how it ends before I form a full opinion though.

I really loved the topic for this week! It was the Top 5 romantic reads! There were so many amazing books mentioned! I’ve even added a few to my wish list! As a reminder – there is NO TOPIC FOR THIS COMING WEEK! I will be out of town so I can’t publish my post or keep up with the list. If you do a list of your own please tag me so that I can see it! I’d love to know what you come up with!

The month of April promises to be a good one! Of course I’ll be participating in the OFF THE GRID READATHON because I’m also hosting it lol! This will take place on Friday April 12th to the 14th at midnight. I have zero plans for that week so I have high hopes that I can knock out a few books that weekend! My dedicated TBR will be posted Thursday. I’m aiming big!! I’ll also be participating in the OWL’s readathon! This one started on April 1st and runs for the entire month. There are 12 challenges in total that are Harry Potter themed. My TBR and the list of challenges (if you wish to participate as well) is posting tomorrow 🙂

So that was my week! Full of laughter, hugs, smiles, reading, and sunshine. Can’t ask for much more to make this girl happy! I’m also so happy to say that I will have completed 3 books before the first week of this month is complete! April is off to a kick ass start! I hope that your week was fantastic as well!

Until next time, happy reading!

I missed doing the Romantic Reads last week, so I’m doing it this week. I hope that’s okay; I just really love the topic! Have a great week!
