Weekly Wrap Up – Feb 25 – Mar 3

I’m mentally and physically exhausted lol. The weekend in Toronto last weekend was so refreshing! But, when I got home, I felt like I was playing an evil game of “catch up”….. and I lost lol! Trying to keep up with the house, work, and everything else was draining. Is there such a thing as a vacation after the vacation?? I also had a lot of anxiety this week and that didn’t help. I had my yearly bloodwork done for my thyroid med levels and my cancer markers. I was fairly confident that it would be clear, but I was nervous none the less. Thankfully – meds are on point and cancer markers are still super low!! This will make year 3 cancer free 🙂

Because of everything going on this week, I didn’t read much. I didn’t read physically at all actually. I did listen to a book though and I really liked it! Here’s what’s going on in my bookish life:

Red sister

I finished this one late last night and I really enjoyed it! I did have some mixed feeling though so I ended up rating it 3.75 stars. It had some amazing things going for it, but there were quite a few things that I struggled with. I’ll go into detail when my review is posted this week.

Wicked saints

I haven’t started this one yet but I hope to get to it tonight or tomorrow. I have a few weeks before it’s time for my blog tour date, but I want to get ahead of the game. I read the first chapter last week and holy hell this book doesn’t mess around!! I can’t wait to see if the whole book is as explosive as that first chapter!

This week was the fourth and final instalment to the themed Harry Potter month! This week was all about the Top 5 Slytherin reads! I LOVED this themed month! And I was even more blown away by the excitement from the participants! I would love to do another themed month so, if you have any suggestions, feel free to shoot them my way! This week we are starting off on the March topics (find the whole list of topics here) and this Tuesday is Top 5 book spines!!! I have a doctors appointment out of town that day so I won’t have time to comment on your posts and may be late getting you added to the list. Thanks for your patience 🙂

This week I am going to bombard you with reviews! I’ve read quite a few books over the last few weeks and I’m behind on posting my reviews. So, if you love reviews – you’re going to love my content this week lol. I hope to be caught up by the end of the week.

It’s been a few years since my last slump……. but I feel one setting in. Being such a big mood reader is hard when you’re struggling mentally. If you’re in a weird mood, or finding yourself struggling with your emotions, it’s really easy for your reading to suffer. I find myself staring at my shelves and not being interested in a single thing. Send all your reading vibes my way so that maybe I can kick this thing before it starts!!!!!!

Trying to stay positive but I’d be lying if I said that it wasn’t forced. I’m not sad, and my anxiety isn’t overwhelming – I’m just exhausted. So if I’m not around all that much I apologize. I will try my best but I might also use this week to recharge my mind, body, and spirit. Hope you had an amazing week and wishing you all the best (and many pages turned) for the upcoming week!

Until next time, happy reading!

  5. Yay for 3 years clear! I’m waiting for the invitation for my appointment at some point in March so hopefully will make 2 years clear. Am quietly optimistic but completely get how nerve wracking it is to wait. Am very pleased for you!

    1. You’ve had cancer as well? The wait is honestly the worst. It leaves your mind to wander the possibilities and sink back into the fear of the unknown

      1. Unfortunately yes, diagnosed January 2017 with cervical cancer. I had a few surgeries and so far I’m in remission, fingers and toes crossed. My anxiety tips into over drive quite frequently over it though, it’s hard to keep a lid on it so I’m trying to learn that its going to be a natural part of the process, however much it sucks!

  6. So glad for your good news!
