Weekly Wrap Up – Feb 18 – 24

Hello all! I hope you had an amazing week everyone! Mine wasn’t very productive – at all. I have an injury to the joints in my left wrist and it hurts like hell. I was forced to spent 3 days not doing anything. I couldn’t even hold a book – tragic! I know! And as I started to heal I still had to take it easy and it took me 3 times as long to get anything done. Oh well. I’m on the mend and that’s all that matters! As you’re reading this, I’m having the best (and most exciting) bookish weekend I’ve ever had! More on that in the other bookish news section. First, let’s get to the books I’ve been reading:

The girl in the tower

THE GIRL IN THE TOWER by Katherine Arden
This one was a long time coming! I finished the first one shortly before this book published and then just never got around to reading this one for some reason. By the time I picked this up, I had forgotten everything that happened in book one. It took me a while to get back into it, but the amazing writing and setting pulled me back in and I ended up really loving this! I hope I won’t wait so long to pick up book 3! Review to come soon.

A Little Life

You’re going to be seeing a lot of this book. I have a feeling that this one could take me more than a month to read. I’m really liking it. The characters are so well developed in the 80 pages I’ve read so far, and I have a feeling this book will make me cry like a baby and fall in love with it. Problem is – the writing and the detail is making me read at a snails pace. I’m reading slowly to not miss all the details…. and this is a very detailed book.

I will be reading something else but I’m not sure what it is yet. I’m writing this post in advance so I haven’t chosen the book I’ll read while I’m away this weekend. If you follow me on Goodreads or Twitter then you’ll know lol

That’s right! As you’re reading this I’m in Toronto with my daughter and my parents. My daughter needed to go dress shopping and get fitted for a wedding that she’s standing up in and we extended the weekend so attend some amazing bookish events! First we will be attending the Harper Collins/HCC Frenzy spring preview! I’ve been invited a few times but, due to the fact that it’s 3.5 hours away from me, I’ve never been able to attend. It’s finally time to attend this year! I’m SO excited to see a publishing house, meet my contacts face to face, hear about some new amazing books, and see BookTube’s Hailey (Hailey in Bookland) again!! Then in the afternoon we’re headed over to the Art Gallery of Ontario for the Angie Thomas talk and signing!! To actually meet Angie Thomas is a dream come true! She’s soooooo amazing and inspiring! I will have a post all about this weekend going up tomorrow afternoon!

Ugh – I’m starting to think that Tuesday’s are a curse. If there’s an appointment, injury, emergency, or any other thing that takes away my free blogging time…. it always finds a way to happen on Tuesday’s! I’m so sorry for not commenting on posts lately. Responding to that many posts typing one handed would have taken forever. It was hard enough linking your posts lol! There were so many GREAT lists for the Top 5 Hufflepuff reads and there were quite a few that I never would have thought of! This Tuesday’s is the top 5 Slytherin reads. ALSO – the topics for March will be released tomorrow morning!!

That about covers this week! This was the calm before the blogging storm that’s about to come. This week is going to be a VERY busy blogging week! Between catching up on reviews, releasing top 5 topics, talking about the Harper Collins/HCC Frenzy and Angie Thomas events, and wrapping up the month…… I still haven’t figured out how I’m going to fit it all in!!! I hope you had an amazing week!!

Until next time, happy reading!

  1. Really glad to hear you’re getting better, that sounds like a bad injury that makes everything else annoying.
