Weekly Wrap Up – Feb 4 – 10

Ok….. I made it through the week with little to no catastrophic adulting events lol! So we’re on the right track and things are looking up! February is looking, however, to be an insanely busy month! There’s something going on literally every weekend and appointments like crazy! I’m counting on my books (yes you, my glorious pages!) to help me get through this month! Here’s what happened this week in my bookish world:

BOOKS I’VE FINISHED:

THE TATTOOIST OF AUSCHWITZ by Heather Morris <—– click for full review – 3.25 stars
I HAD to read this book – there was honestly so much hype about it! But sadly, this was a miss for me. I go into more detail about why in the review, but I think that it had a lot to do with the fact that it was originally written as a screenplay. There was something that just didn’t translate for me, and my emotions and connection to it suffered because of it.

WHEN THE SKY FELL ON SPLENDOR by Emily Henry
I FINALLY read an Emily Henry book! I’ve seen her name everywhere on book blogs and YouTube, but I hadn’t gotten around to reading her yet. But this one sounded too good to pass up! A group of teens films YouTube videos as a way to decompress from a tragic town wide accident. But one night, while filming, something crash lands with a blinding light and things get out of control. I really liked this book! It felt so fresh and unique – unlike anything i’ve ever read before! Full review is coming tomorrow 🙂

BOOKS I’M CURRENTLY READING:

No….. I still haven’t finished The Hero of Ages by Brandon Sanderson yet lol. I think that this is the second week in a row that this has show up on my currently reading list. But I am SO CLOSE! I think that I have less than 100 pages…… and I’m loving it as much as I thought I would! Once I’m done that I don’t really know what I’ll pick up. I have a very work heavy week so I’m in a weird mood. Being a mood reader is so hard sometimes! I don’t know what I’ll feel like I’m in the mood for next.

SAME BLOG – DIFFERENT LOOK!

I’m sure you’ve already noticed by now – the blog got a bit of an overhaul! It was a last minute decision and one that I needed to do quickly before I lost my nerve. It’s been a total pain in the ass though lol. In order to get the posts to come up properly, I had to reformat my posts from “standard” to “image” settings. I couldn’t just leave it all alone…. my OCD wouldn’t allow that lol. So I went through and reformatting every – single – post…… it was exhausting! I like how it looks, and I hope you do too. If there are any difficulties navigating, please let me know – I may have missed something.

I’M TWO YEARS OLD!

Well not me – the blog! January was so busy that I totally forgot the blog’s 2 year anniversary! This just blows me away! I started the blog as a way for me to finally talk about the books I was reading. I felt like I was going to literally burst from holding in all the things I wanted to say! But, I really had no plans or direction with the blog….. I just started one day lol. I honestly didn’t even think that I would get to my first year….. now i’m past the second year mark and going strong! Happy anniversary to me!

TOP 5 TUESDAY

You like it! You really like it! lol. When I decided to do February as the Harry Potter/Hogwarts house themed month, I wasn’t sure if anyone was going to participate. But – you all seem so excited! And I’m loving all the different takes on the house traits 🙂 This week we talked about the books and characters of Gryffindor House. Next week will be Ravenclaw. I also wanted to note some difficulties this week. WordPress seems to be having issues again. Not sure if it has to do with recent updates or what. But, there were some problems with ping backs. Either I didn’t get one at all, or I got three and all on different days. SO – if I missed you – I apologize! It was because I didn’t get notified. If I happen to miss you, please comment on anyone of my posts with your link and I will add you as soon as I can!

That was my week! A little less hectic, and I am SO glad for it! Hopefully things remain calm and I can get back into the reading game!
