For a second month in a row, I’m proud of my restraint…… who am I kidding? It had nothing to do with restraint and everything to do with my wallet being empty lol! One book I preordered a while ago, another one I preordered a few weeks ago, and the third I won in a giveaway. Even though there’s only 3 books that came into my house this month, they’re all extremely special. So let’s see what I got this month 🙂
BRIDGE OF CLAY by Markus Zusak
A new Markus Zusak!!!!! I absolutely can’t wait to dive into this one. Oh, and it’s SIGNED!!!!!! Markus Zusak is one of my all time favourite authors. I read The Book Thief first, and fell in love in ways I never imagined. It left a mark on my soul and my heart. It was then that I fell in love with his writing style, which seemed full of emotion with a little bit of quirky uniqueness. Then I read I Am The Messenger and loved it as well. Full of humour and emotion, and still kept a bit of that quirkiness to it. He always has this unique element to his story’s. Either through plot or narration, there’s something that always stands out. But it seems that his books are SO different from each other. I’m so excited to see what I think of this one!
KINGDOM OF ASH by Sarah J Maas
EEEKKKK!!!! The finale is here and I’m not sure that I’m ready!! I know that she’s going to be brutal with this one. Seeing as how the last book left off in a pretty serious way, I doubt that everyone is going to make it out alive – and I have some theories. It’s been hard to avoid spoilers though! My shipment got stuck in a postal strike and I’ve had to avoid people freaking out on Twitter like the plague. I hope that I can read this before I get spoiled!!! I’m trying to prepare my heart……. not sure that’s going to help though!!!
THE HATE U GIVE (COLLECTORS EDITION) by Angie Thomas
Thank you so much to Indigo Teen for this beautiful and super shiny collectors edition!! This picture doesn’t do it justice. The cover is actually a really shiny gold foil and it’s so beautiful! Because I won this edition, I gave my original hardcover to my daughter. I wanted to see it in theatres this week but it isn’t out where I live. I almost cried.
Those were the books that I hauled this month. If I’m a good girl and spend my money wisely (aka adulting sucks), then this will be the last haul of the year. Christmas is coming and I need to be smart! What books did you haul this month?
Until next time, happy reading!
