Weekly Wrap Up – September 17 – 23

This week seemed to both take forever and fly by. I was so busy with multiple meet the teacher nights (where, in my own stupidity, I signed up to be on the parent council for my youngest child’s school – as if I didn’t have enough to do already!), work, phone calls, and sick kids. But, I did manage to finish two books this week! And they both have purple covers! It’s so rare to see purple covers and to read two back to back is like finding a unicorn!

BOOKS I’VE FINISHED THIS WEEK:

The first book I finished this week was Muse of Nightmares by Laini Taylor. I had some conflicting thoughts through the middle but that ending SLAYED my every emotion! This book was so incredible!!! My full review will be posted tomorrow morning!

The last book I finished this week I have some very conflicting thoughts about. I mean VERY conflicting. All Your Perfects was only my second Colleen Hoover book, and it was better written than the other one I read. But still, I can’t get over some of the thoughts I had. Review (and partial rant) will be posted on Wednesday morning.

BOOKS I’M CURRENTLY READING:

Catwoman

OMG WHAT?! Another purple book?! None of this was planned, I swear! I haven’t started this one yet. Maybe tonight or tomorrow. It might take me a while to get through this as i’ve got a busy week ahead and a daughter who isn’t feeling well. I already have my reservations about this book, and I feel like my lack of reading time will only hinder that more. Maybe this book will surprise me. I hope so.

OTHER BOOKISH NEWS:

TOP 5 TUESDAY:

This weeks topic was a blast, and my TBR is crying from all the new additions. We were talking about our top 5 fantasy!! And I was a massive rule breaker this week and made mine a Top 10 Fantasy list. Sorry, but there were just way too many to talk about! This Tuesday we will be talking about our top 5 cozy fall reads 🙂 Also, tomorrow afternoon, the post for the October topics will go live. I hope you like the topics chosen this coming month 🙂

That’s pretty much all that happened this week. Not a whole lot going on in my bookish world. But since the last 2 weeks were so insane, I was due for a quiet week! Hope you all had a fantastic week yourselves and got lots of reading time in!

Until next time, happy reading!

I just got Muse of Nightmares from the library, and I’m looking forward to starting it. I’ve heard nothing but good things about it.

  3. Haha! Purple used to be my favorite color, then I discovered practically all my wardrobe had become purple my freshman year of high school and I’ve had aversion towards the color ever since. Le sigh.

All these books seem super great, though! So no shade towards the books ^_^

I just got done uploading my wrap up! I’m curious what your thoughts will be on Catwoman because I read that a few weeks back and posted my review and I was so conflicted and I’ve been hearing such mixed things about it since it came out! Love your blog!!

    1. Thanks! I’m just over 100 pages now and I’m still not liking it. She just seems like a glorified trained Robin Hood with cat ears…… and I feel like there’s a romance coming on…. ugh 😑

  5. Ooh, I hope you do enjoy Catwoman! Why do you already have some reservations about it? I finished it on Saturday and really liked how action-packed it was without it feeling “too much”. 🙂

    1. I’m kind of bored and it’s just blah so far. It’s not awful but it’s also not grabbing my attention like her other books. Doesn’t help that I’m not a fan of super hero’s…. sigh

      1. Awh; I hope it’ll get better for you! It’s definitely something else compared to her other books, but I still really liked it. 🙂
These books are starting to somewhat convince me on the superheroes-part, haha. I haven’t been a great fan of them before, but I do like the books so far – except for Batman, that one bored me a bit. :’)
