I don’t know if you could tell by the title of this post, but – THIS WAS THE BEST BOOKISH WEEK EVER!! Not only did I read some seriously amazing books, but – I went to a bookish event where I got to meet an author AND TWO BookTube personalities!! It doesn’t get better than that! Well, actually it does! I’ll explain in just a minute. But for right now, here’s what I read and what I’m currently reading:

A MILLION WORLDS WITH YOU by Claudia Gray <—– full review

This book was a really satisfying conclusion to a really fantastic series! It was so good that I marathon’d the whole series this month! It was the kind of world that I just didn’t want to leave. I tried reading something else, but I kept going back to this world. I’m really happy that I stuck with it too. I felt that it would just be ok, but it far exceeded my expectations!

NIGHT BLOOD by Elly Blake <—– full review

I just realized that these two books were the third and final to a series. Look at me go! Finishing two trilogies back to back lol. This was possibly my favourite book in the Frostblood Saga. Her writing was so strong and the way that she writes action scenes is just incredible. They’re so interesting and easy to picture how the scene works together. There was also a strong element of folklore which I ADORE!! I really loved this series!

GOLDEN SONI finished Red Rising quite a while ago and knew that I needed to get to the sequel soon…… but there was always a reason why I couldn’t. No more! I’m finally back into the series and I’m really enjoying it! It started off slow. I was actually considering DNF’ing it. But around 100 pages in, the story picked up and turned back into the political, action packed story that I remembered. I hope to finish it soon!

SADIE – As soon as I finish with Golden Son, I will be picking up Sadie. I’ve heard so many thoughts and opinions regarding this book and it’s all been so positive! I mean, I literally haven’t heard a bad word about it! I have my blog tour stop on September 7th so I need to read this and prepare my post.

So, on Saturday I travelled to Windsor for the Nightblood launch at Chapters Indigo. I had met Elly Blake twice before and was looking forward to meeting her again and getting the third and final book in the trilogy signed. She was wonderful (as always) and I was excited to hear that she’s considering a new project. No details were given, but it’s pretty much an auto buy for me! Here’s a picture 🙂

Then, after speaking with Elly, I got to meet Hailey from the YouTube channel Hailey in Bookland. I’ve been watching her for many years and it honestly felt a little strange meeting her in person. I watch her on a weekly basis and felt a little like I already knew her, her taste in books, and her personality. And, if you’re wondering, she’s exactly the same in person! So happy, upbeat, and super sweet! I also met her friend Zoe (her YouTube channel is Yerabooknerdzoe) and we talked for such a long time! I got so many adult fantasy recommendations and she has just as much of a potty mouth as I do!! LOL I’m SOOO sad that I never got a picture with her 😦 But here’s me and Hailey

Now, remember how I said it couldn’t get better than meeting these three??? Well, it definitely did! I did a little book shopping……. because I have no freaking restraint to speak of…… and picked up 4 books. Two of those books came recommended to me by Zoe. I called my husband to tell him that I was on my way home and mentioned that there was a Mandarin restaurant right beside Chapters. We decided that he would take the kids and meet me there! I had some time to kill while he drove to Windsor, so I went and sat in Starbucks with a mango dragonfruit tea and read one of my new books ***SPOILER – the book Zoe recommended to me is AMAZING!*** None of us had been to Mandarin before and it was sooooo good! I didn’t eat at all that day so I was starving.

Let me tell you – Saturday was a much needed day to recharge. I got out of the house, forgot about work and my motherly duties, and just did something for myself. It was all about books, shopping, relaxing, and reading, and it was all just for me. I even got to end the day with an amazing (though expensive) meal where the kids even let me sit next to my husband lol. Small miracles here people!

This week was a bit of chaos. I did well keeping up with the list and then the rest of the week I was swamped with work, sleepovers for my daughter, and everything else in between. I may have missed a few people on the list and I’m sincerely sorry!! I will get you added ASAP. The last few weeks have been really difficult for me to keep on top of that. TOMORROW I will be posting the topics for September!! I’m so excited about these!!!

That was my week – it was insane during the week. I got little to no time for myself and I ran around like a chicken with my head cut off. But, I was able to keep my happy face on, spend time with my kids, make amazing meals, read some books, and more. Then it ended on a super positive note! As busy as it was, I could definitely use another week like this! Hope your week was just as amazing!!!

Until next time, happy reading!

    1. All I know is that Sadie is considered a thriller of sorts. She’s trying to find her sisters killer and it’s told in the perspective of Sadie herself and through a podcast. It’s an interesting format
