Top 5 books I want to reread

This post was perfect timing for me. Back in January I made the reading goal to reread the entire Harry Potter series. But here I was, in July, and I still hadn’t read one! So this was a little motivation to get to them (update – i’ve now read the first 2!). And through those books I realized just how much I love rereading. It’s like visiting an old friend! And now that you know how it’s going to end you can focus more on the details, and the puzzle pieces that now fit together. So these are the top 5 books I want to reread 🙂

** NOTE – to all top 5 Tuesday participants – today will be chaos for me. I will have 2 eight year old boys running around my house all day, both of which have really high energy! I will try my best to update the list as soon as possible but I will probably not have the chance to comment. I will comment as soon as I can 🙂

Top 5 Tuesday is a weekly meme where I explore different topics. If you are interested in participating I would love to have you! Here is a list of my Upcoming Topics in July – please remember to ping back a specific post of mine so I get a notification and I will add you to the participants list!

Every heart a doorway

THE WAYWARD CHILDREN SERIES BY SEANAN McGUIRE

I LOVE this series. WAY more than I ever expected to! I know that I just finished them not too long ago, but I would really like to read the first three all in a row now that I own them all.

dark-matter

DARK MATTER BY BLAKE CROUCH

I read this one back in December of 2016 and I haven’t stopped thinking about it since! The premise of a multiverse was presented in such a detailed and mind blowing way. It was terrifying to think of and I’ve had many dreams about it since. It’s made all the more terrifying from the perspective of a character who knows he has a different life in another universe, and the one he’s seeing isn’t the same. The desperation to get back to that life was so hard to read! I need to read this one again soon!

a-head-full-of-ghosts

A HEAD FULL OF GHOSTS BY PAUL TREMBLAY

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again – this is the only book that’s ever scared the shit out of me. The things that happened in this book were so unsettling that I haven’t stopped thinking about it for years. I really want to reread this knowing how it ends, so I can see if it’s more or less unsettling now.

The wrath and the dawn

THE WRATH AND THE DAWN BY RENÉE AHDIEH

I remember the moment I finished this book. I sat on the chair in my living room, my hands literally shaking. I wanted needed the second book so badly that I felt physical side effects! I loved this book more than I ever imagined. I went into it expecting it to just be mediocre and familiar. But it was so far from that! It was wonderful!!!

Artemis

ARTEMIS BY ANDY WEIR

I need to get back to Jazz! I know that she’s not the most popular main character out there, but she’s a bookish bestie for me! She was crude and totally bad ass! Not always making the best of decisions, but she always had the best of intentions. AND, as Justine from I Should Read That mentioned, it’s being adapted!!!! So I definitely need to reread before it comes out 🙂

Arrow

So those are the top 5 books I want to reread. Not sure if I’ll get the chance to get to them before the end of the year, but I would really love to!

Until next time, happy reading!

  10. DARK MATTER!! That book blew my freaking mind. I always wondered if a reread would live up to the hype or if it would somehow lessen the impact it had the first go around since I already know what’s behind the door if you will…Great list!!

    Liked by 1 person

    1. I wondered that too. Seeing if Knowing how it ends impacts the book as a whole. It might make it even more mind blowing!

  17. Now I wanna read A Head Full of Ghosts! I’ve been meaning to look for actual scary books and this seems to be one! Probably not gonna read it after dark but hey, I might if it’s good

I haven’t read any of these books but Dark Matter and Artemis has been sitting on my shelf for ages. i guess it’s time to finally pick them up!! Great list love 💕

    1. Dark Matter absolutely blew my mind. It’s also one of the only books where I couldn’t figure out how it was going to end until I got to the last page. Enjoy!

  19. I made a goal to read all the Harry Potter books this summer! Only books 1 and 2 were rereads for me but since it’s been so long it was like I was reading everything for the first time. I am on book 6 and I am loving it! I know I’m about 2 decades late to the party but its been fun. 🙂

This tag is so fun and I definitely have a lot of books I want to reread so your post inspired me to get going on that! I think I’ll pick up an old favorite book of mine after I’m done with Harry Potter!

    Liked by 1 person

    1. I was late to the Harry Potter train as well. I don’t think I started the series until after the first movie came out! I assumed it would be too immature but I was so wrong! So happy you’re loving them!!

I had no idea Artemis was going to be adapted to the big screen! I wonder if they’ll change the character at all since so many people had a problem with her???

    Liked by 1 person

    1. I didn’t know until a few days ago. I hope they don’t change her. I LOVED her so much!! She is basically the reflection of me 😂 I’m dying to know who they cast for her character though!

  21. Ooh, the Wrath and the Dawn is on my TBR!!

    Liked by 1 person

    1. I assumed it would be very familiar and follow the annoying love at first sight trope. It didn’t. It was wonderful! Hope you love it as much as I did!

  22. I’m currently reading Beneath the Sugar Sky and the series is SO magical and amazing! I was definitely not expecting it to be so good. I’m also currently reading Dark Matter – I’ve just read the first chapter – but it’s already really intrigued me. I absolutely loved TWATD when I read it and even I’m thinking of rereading it once 🙂

    1. I almost refused to read Every Heart A Doorway. It didn’t seem like something I would enjoy. But everyone seemed to love it so I gave in. So glad I did!! The first few chapters of Dark Matter are very confusing. Intriguing, but confusing. It picks up fast though! Hope you love it!
