July 2018 TBR

July?? I guess it is! Time is flying by too fast! I’m trying to keep this month light with my reading plans. Kids are home for the summer so we plan to do some camping, fires, BBQ’s, fishing, and lots of swimming in the pool! I’ve also been in a bit of a weird reading mood. Not a slump (thank goodness) but I don’t really know what I’m in the mood to read until I start reading it. And, for some strange reason ,fantasy seems to be difficult for me to get into right now. BUT – my kids are going on a camping trip and my husband is fishing everyday to prepare for a tournament, so that means I have some extra reading time! On top of that, the Tome Topple readathon happened right when they were gone so I’m hoping that it will kickstart my reading again. I know the next month will be busy but I have high hopes for lots of pages!

Spellsinger

SPELLSLINGER by Sebastien De Castell
This is the only book that I know I’ll be reading for sure, as it’s the only ARC I have for July. This has already been published in other countries, but I received this from Hachette Canada with the publication date for July 17. As soon as I read the synopsis for this one I knew that I had to read it. I hope I like it as much as I think I will!

Tome topple 1 TBR

And these are the 4 books that I hope to complete for the Tome Topple Readathon which began June 29th and ends July 12. I might be biting off more than I can chew, but I never do things half assed lol! I’ve been wanting to read all of these for the longest time but their size intimidated me. Since I’m officially ahead of my Goodreads goal, I think I can spare some extra time to tackle these Tomes!

TBR UNHAUL CHALLENGE #3

June worked out perfectly! 2 books were chosen and two books were read – and good ones too! This month (knowing what was picked) I’m even more excited! One book I planned to read this month anyway, so I’m counting it as fate 🙂

TBR JAR PICK OF THE MONTH:

It’s fate – I chose A Closed and Common Orbit by Becky Chambers! I wanted to read it this month anyways. Problem was, I’ve been putting it on my TBR for the last 2 months and kept putting it off. Not any longer! It’s happening and I couldn’t be happier!

MY KIDS PICK OF THE MONTH:

This month it was my son’s turn to choose. The little BRAT looked on my shelf and chose 5 of the LONGEST books and just laughed about it! In the end, he ended up choosing The Unexpected Everything – I think it’s because there was an ice-cream truck and dogs on the cover lol. Either way I’m glad he picked it because it’s the perfect summer read! And it was also perfect timing for the Tome Topple readathon!

Arrow

There is my very ambitious for the month of July TBR lol! If I manage to read all of these, I think that it will end up being the most successfully July I’ve ever had! I’m determined and can’t wait to see if I can do it! What do you plan on reading this month?

Until next time, happy reading!

    1. Well………. I think I may have officially DNF’d it. Which is so weird! I usually love Morgan Matson but I struggled with it immediately. I haven’t made the call just yet, but that’s the direction I’m thinking. I might cry lol
