For me, there’s nothing better than taking the dust jacket off of a hardcover book and finding something underneath. Some shiny lettering, an embossed design, a picture – it feels like you’re uncovering a buried treasure! Some of them are so beautiful that I would even be willing to ditch the dust jacket all together and just display the naked book! Also, when I posted this topic, some people asked if this was a topic about naked covers…… as in naked people on covers……. not entirely what I meant but let me tell you, I wouldn’t be opposed to seeing a top 5 of those either! LOL

So, when I was making this list I had a few books in mind to feature. But as I was checking the books on my shelves, I realized that there were WAY more than I thought! Because of that, this list will be a top 10! Because there are so many though, I’m going to attempt a different format so that this post isn’t a million years long. Enjoy the beauty!
This is one of my favourite hardcovers EVER!!! There is no dust jacket – just this glorious design! Not only that but the page edges are sprayed red. It’s one of the most beautiful books I own!! This is the only one that’s not hidden under a dust jacket so it’s not in the format of the rest. The rest will just be in picture form. Enjoy!

Those are gorgeous!!! This makes me want to go out and buy some hardcovers. I hate reading hardcovers… But, I LOVE owning them!! 💖💖

SAME! Hardcovers are so awkward to hold and the edges hurt sometimes. I much prefer paperbacks. But you’re right – I like owning hardcovers because they’re pretty lol

I feel really sad that I can’t participate in this weeks Top 5 Tuesday!
I went through all my hardbacks when you announced the July topics and I was SO annoyed to discover that without the dust covers they were all so so boring. Just plain colours with text on the spine! So I couldn’t really big any of them up in a post for this weeks topic haha.
Your hardbacks are beautiful though and have made me slightly jealous!

I so love hardcovers that have something beneath the dust jacket. It always feels like I have stumbled upon a sweet leetle surprise left behind just for the reader.

I absolutely love beautiful naked books. It’s why I always tend to buy hardcovers, because I’m always hoping that there’s going to be a surprise when I take off the dust jacket! What a fun post, and I definitely agree! Pictures are the best way to get across how amazing they are. You chose some GORGEOUS books!

omg these are all so gorgeous! I especially love heartless, which I sadly still haven’t read. I didn’t know there was a collection of all 4 giver books! It’s so pretty. I might have to get that at some point.

The Giver bind up was cheaper to purchase than buying all four books. I didn’t expect it to be that beautiful though! Hope you love Heartless when you get to it 🙂

It’s one of those books where the dust jacket has a hole in it to expose the design on the actual hardback. I wish they made more of those!!

Wow, these are stunning! I love the Sleeping Giants cover, it’s incredible. And I own Illuminae in that edition and I think it is so unique which I love.

Those covers are absolutely gorgeous! I can’t believe I forgot to mention the Passenger duology and The Forgetting! They are both such beautiful naked covers!

This was such a fun idea! Those books are gorgeous! I also really like the US deluxe edition of The Wicked Deep, it has silver stars pressed into the hardback. Great post 🙂
