Top 5 Covers – Green, Blue and Purple edition!

Happy Top 5 Tuesday everyone! This is part two of the colours of covers series! Last week we all talked about our favourite red, orange, and yellow covers – so now it’s time to talk about the rest of the rainbow! This one was hard. I mean almost impossible to narrow down! My favourite colours are green and blue, so I always gravitate towards books with those colours. SO – due to my impossibility to make a decision this week – I will be doing a TOP 10!! This will be a bit longer, so let’s just jump right in!!

Top 5 Tuesday is a weekly meme where I explore different topics. If you are interested in participating I would love to have you! Here is a list of my Upcoming Topics in June – please remember to ping back a specific post of mine so I get a notification and I will add you to the participants list!

PASSENGER AND WAYFARER by Alexandra Bracken

These two covers are possibly my favourite book covers EVER! I find zero fault with them. The colours are muted yet pop in all the right places. The fonts are SO gorgeous and remind me of hand done brush lettering. But the images are what I love most. They’re so soft and muted, have a misty quality to them, while also looking like watercolours. And they both have mirror images! These covers deserve an award!

THE LONG WAY TO A SMALL ANGRY PLANET by Becky Chambers

So simple yet so stunning! Basically any cover with stars, galaxies, and silhouettes are an automatic cover buy for me. This one was a solid balance with the title as well. And, let’s be honest, with a title that long, balance is a hard thing to do!

THE SPACE BETWEEN THE STARS by Anne Corlett

These two covered always felt similar to me, but I didn’t realize just how similar until I put them side by side! They both have sillier colours, star backgrounds, and blank space taken up with font for the title. The cover for this one is so much more stunning in person!

THE BEAR AND THE NIGHTINGALE by Katherine Arden

This book looks like a dream. It looks as if you’re caught in that in between moment before you wake up from a dream and everything around you is soft and fading. The lighting is also very powerful in this one as well.

WINTERSONG by J. Jae-Jones

Yet another cover that is so much more stunning in person! This one and the sequel (Shadowsong) have the same type of design with globes and flowers. The covers together also have the same cold and wintery feel to them!

SIX STORIES by Matt Wesolowski

I don’t know why I’m so obsessed with this cover recently but I am! It’s so simple. A lot of literal white space with a simple design in the middle. I think that I might be obsessed with mirror images as these are 2 more (making my grand total of 4 on this list) that have a mirror image. This one is different as it’s a replica image with the same on both top and bottom. I love trees and the colours of these trees is so bright and beautiful!

A THOUSAND PIECES OF YOU by Claudia Gray

Gah! This cover is perfection! The water colours are amazing and the colour choices makes your eye move around. Soft, muted, and cold on the top, with warm, bright and bold colours on the bottom. I haven’t read this book yet but I have a feeling I’ll like the inside as much as the outside!

EVERYTHING EVERYTHING by Nicola Yoon

I obsessed over this cover for a year before I decided to pick it up. I didn’t know what it was about and I didn’t care. The doodle type design with the bright colours had me hooked immediately. I used to draw stuff like this just for fun so seeing it done in such a beautiful and professional way is right up my alley!

HARRY POTTER AND THE PRISONER OF AZKABAN illustrated edition

Last but not least (or saving the best for last I should say!) is Harry Potter! This illustrated edition cover is the best of the series so far. The colours are EVERYTHING! Not to mention that the bus is everything how I imagined it would be!!! I wish I had a poster of this to put on my wall!!

There are my top five ten green, blue, and purple covers!! There was just no way possible to narrow the list down to less than 10!

Just a reminder that there is no topic next week as I will be recovering from surgery. Top 5 Tuesday will return on June 26 with your top 5 favourite summer time reads! If you end up doing your own topic next week please tag me – I’d love to see what you come up with!

All such lovely book covers. The top two are my favourite I think though. I love the atmosphere they create 😀 and the Wintersong one wonderful too. Obviously the Harry Potter was is magical 😛 can never go wrong with Harry Potter 🙂 Nice choice and an unusual selection from what I would normally pick but I like them nonetheless 🙂
