Before I get into this post, I just wanted to say a quick happy Mothers Day to all you bookish moms out there!! I hope that you get some quiet and uninterrupted reading time today ๐Ÿ™‚ And, of course, happy mothers day to my mom, who unexpectedly became my best friend in life. It took us a while to get along (because we are SO alike) but now I can’t imagine a day going by without talking to her. LOVE YOU!!!

Now – WHAT A WEEK!!! I thought it would be quiet…… oh no! This week was crazy!! First of all, it started with me waking up to a message that I had won a 500$ gift card to my local No Frills grocery store!!! I almost fainted!! What a surprise! Then work was super productive. It made my head spin a little bit but seeing all the orders being shipped out the door felt wonderful and like we were accomplishing something. I did end up finishing one book this week and almost finished another. I’m SO close! Here goes the wrap up:

The final six

THE FINAL SIX by Alexandra Monirย <—– (full review)

The first book I finished was The Final Six by Alexandra Monir. Something just didn’t click for me. Her writing was fantastic though, but the story didn’t compute. The romance was especially horrid! But, like I said, I enjoyed her writing style and her ability to create a captivating world, and write fluid action scenes. So I will be reading more of her in the future. But this book wasn’t near as good as I expected. Someone mentioned that it’s being turned into a movie. I think this would transfer well on screen as she writes so visually. I look forward to the movie.

I am SO close to finishing Lifel1k3! And dear god – it’s amazing!!! It’s everything that made me fall in love with Jay Kristoff and so much more. I could probably rave about this book for hours! The one liners are hilarious, the friendships are amazing, the science aspects are so interesting – there’s literally nothing I don’t like so far!!

I haven’t started The Song of Achilles yet but I plan to get to it this week. SO MANY people have literally yelled at me to read this and claimed that it would be life changing. With the recent release of Circe, the hype finally got to me. So this is happening!

On Friday night, I went to a trivia night with the wife of a fellow blogger (Joe fromย JW Martin – Storeys of Stories) and I had to much fun! Some of the questions were just ridiculous, but still, we didn’t do too bad! I believe that we placed 9th out of about 17 teams. So not bad! Point is, it was fun! My Luna glasses didn’t fit my actual glasses, so I just taped this to my nose lol The Luna shirt isn’t in the picture, but it was epic lol!

This weeks topic was theย top 5 books I would save from a fireย – there were so many great stories behind why people wanted to save their books. There were also quite a few creative ways to save them! Next week is the top 5 opening/first lines. I LOVE this topic! First lines are always something I remember if it’s good! Also, since there are a few people who are new, please make sure that you’re linking a specific post of mine so that I get notified. I haven’t been getting all the notifications. If you see that I haven’t added you, feel free to message or comment to let me know so that I don’t miss you! Tuesdays are chaos and I don’t often get the chance to search for your posts. You won’t be bothering me if you send me a link. I really don’t mind! I want to get everyone on the list ๐Ÿ™‚

My life is generally busy, but the next few weeks/months are even more so. If I randomly don’t post, that means I’m running around like a chicken with my head cut off. Between work, school for the kids, and everything else, there’s always something that demands my attention. I may even have to cut back on posting a bit but I’ll cross that bridge when need be. I do, however, plan to do a little anxiety update post and go over some of the things that you all helped me realize.

This was the week of the unexpected. I’m glad that I just went with the flow of it all and didn’t let it overwhelm me. Books helped keep me sane! Hope you all had a fantastic week!

Until next time, happy reading!
