Today is the last day in the month from hell. I’ve never been so glad for a month to be over. I started off what I knew was going to be a busy month with a little optimism. I was hoping that it wasn’t going to be as bad as it could have been. In a way – I was right. It wasn’t as bad as it could have been! It was worse….. so much worse. I’m at this awful point where IΒ feel like I’m forcing yourself to smile. Or that I’m jealous of people who can freely laugh and smile like it’s so easy……… I’m struggling – A LOT. But dwelling on how bad this month was is doing nothing for me. So I’m done complaining about it. The month is over! I’m deciding that I’m going to just try and put it all behind me and start fresh. I just hope I’m strong enough to stop letting it take me down.
With all that being said, I read 5 books this month. Yup, that’s all. 5. Last month it was 12. But I knew this was going to happen and I already know that March is going to be better. Like I said – not going to let myself get taken down! Starting fresh and going into March with a positive mindset. And one positive thing about the books I read in February? They were all pretty good! And out of the 5 books I read, 3 of them were graphic novels…… so weird! I almost never read graphic novels and then this month they were mostly all I read. I’m laughing a little about this!
The first two books I read this month I actually didn’t review. They were both graphic novels and hard to review. Saga was a reread and Wires and Nerve is a continuation in a series.
THIRTEEN RISING by Romina RussellΒ <—– full review
This book was just so satisfying! It was the concluding novel (#4) in the Zodiac series. It feels like finishing a series is a rare thing and this was the first of many series conclusions for me this year. But I was SO obsessed with the complexities of this story and world and it was nice to put it all together and get some answers. I did expect a far more exciting ending, but it was still satisfying all the same.
SPEAK by Laurie Halse AndersonΒ <—– full review
I knew that this one was going to wreck me and it did! This graphic novel packs a punch for sure. After finishing it my mind was still running. Thinking of the characters, the situation, and how they handled things. It was especially hard because the main character is the same age as my daughter at the time of this “significant event”. It was all a little close to home. I’m really interested in the full length novel now! And I’ve also heard that this is a movie. exciting!
And finally I finished Horrorstor by Grady Hendrix. Yes, this is a novel and not an Ikea catalogue (want to be creeped out? just look at the picture frames……..) I will be doing a full review on this one tomorrow! It was creepy, twisted, gross, dark, and all things I now come to know as Grady Hendrix. I’ve absolutely been won over by this author and his quirky twisted mind!
So I guess that’s all folks. 5 books read this month and only 2 reviews posted…… can I even call myself a blogger anymore?? lol I’m joking really. I knew this month was going to suck. But onward and upward from here! I’m hoping that March will be filled with all things smiles and excitement!!!
Until next time, happy reading!

I’m sorry you had such an awful February but I’m sure that March will be so much better! I’m currently reading Wandering Star and am loving it!! This series is so much better than I thought it was going to be and I can’t wait to finish the series. I’m glad you found Thirteen Rising to be a satisfying conclusion!

I didn’t post a single book review this month, and I only read one book. So you’re far and above where I’m sitting right now!

March here means we get excited that spring is coming and then we get a snow storm out of nowhere that makes us all cry π
But spring is definitely closer than it was!!
