Weekly Wrap Up – Feb 12 – 25

The dates aren’t wrong – this is a multiple week wrap up…… as you’ve probably seen, the last few weeks haven’t been the best for me. In fact, these have been the worst weeks  I’ve had in years. The business trip went well. Really well in fact! We released our new product, got a lot of interest and exposure, and met a lot of contacts. But it wasn’t without stress and hard work. During the show we were on our feet for 12+hours, I was taking care of the kids while we were there, organizing all our stuff in the hotel so we were prepared, and then I slept for 3 hours a night (if I was lucky). And the 3 weeks of 12-18 hour work days prior to the show – was way too much. I put my body and mind through way more than I should have. So, when we got home, I paid for it. I had the flu to end all flu’s……… and slept from Tuesday morning until Friday afternoon. I would wake up for about a half an hour, cry, get a drink, take some meds, then go back to sleep. It was AWFUL!! I’m thinking clearer now, the fever is gone, and the body pains aren’t as bad, but my energy is still non existent.

I’m going to start easing into blogging and won’t commit to writing daily. I will also start chipping away at the overwhelming amount of notifications on WordPress…. I’m drowning lol!! So it’s going to take me a while to get back to this 100% but I’m getting there!

BOOKS I’VE READ OVER THE LAST TWO WEEKS:

SPEAK by Laurie Halse Anderson <—– (full review) I had the review for this one posted quite a few days ago and it was just so good. So many emotions and so hard hitting. I wasn’t expecting that from a graphic novel! I really liked it and hope to pick up the full length novel soon.

I just finished Horrorstor a couple of days ago and it was just what I needed!! Weird, twisted, creepy, disgusting, and all things gross! It was great but not quite as good as My Best Friend’s Exorcism. Or maybe it was but just in different ways. I will hopefully have the review posted sometime this week.

BOOKS I’M CURRENTLY READING:

Everything I Never Told you is a book that I’ve wanted to read for years so I’m glad to finally be getting to it. But, I have to admit, that it’s been a little difficult to get into. A little slow and info dumpy in the beginning. It’s also a book that you quickly realize focuses on more of the family dynamic than the mystery aspect. I know I’m going to like it in the end, but it’s been a struggle in the beginning.

Illuminae – it’s time for a reread because it’s almost the release date for Obsidio!!!!!! I’m sooooooo excited!! These books are over 600 pages in length but I know I can reread them really fast!

Not knowing anything about the book, Horrorstor looks like a novel about the horrors of assembling ikea furniture 😀
