Weekly Wrap Up – Jan 8 – 14

After last weeks insane bout of reading, things have calmed down to my usual pace. It doesn’t help that life got in the way quite a bit – between work, snow days, dentist appointments for the kids – I’ve been swamped!! Not to mention I’ve made it a goal to get deeper into essential oils and use them in my daily life, so I’ve spent a lot of time researching and learning about them. I know it will help my health and well being in the long run, but it’s all a little overwhelming right now. But I did finish one book and got part way through 2 more, so things are still going well in the reading department 🙂

BOOKS I’VE FINISHED THIS WEEK:

Wintersong

This book destroyed me! I mean completely demolished my heart and emotions! It took me the longest time to write the review because I was so overtaken by this book! It was one of my most unexpected 5 star reads ever! Review will be posted tomorrow and I hope it’s coherent! lol

BOOKS I’M CURRENTLY READING:

Immediately following Wintersong, I picked up my ARC copy of Shadowsong. I’m not that far into it (sadly) so it’s too soon to form an opinion about it. I also picked up We Are The Ants on audiobook so I can listen to it while I work. Like I said, work has been crazy but luckily i’m not always dealing with customers and can listen to books at the same time. I splurged on wireless earbuds for my phone and they have been an absolutely godsend!! I can move around freely and listen 🙂 Once I finish one of these I will continue my Saga reread and pick up Volume 2

OTHER BOOKISH NEWS:

TOP 5 TUESDAY

This week was all about the books on my 2018 bucket list – so basically the books that I need to be held accountable to read this year OR ELSE!! Thanks so much for everyone who participated. There were so many great books on your lists and quite a few that I added to my own TBR! I hope we all have proper motivation to get to these! Next weeks topic is the top 5 series you want to start this year, which I am SO excited to talk about! If you want to see the rest of the topics for January, click HERE

BOOKISH BULLET JOURNAL UPDATE

This week I did an updated post all about my bookish bullet journal. I started fresh in 2018 and made A LOT of changes. I’m so glad that I did because I was able to include things I didn’t realize that I needed, including a book thoughts page, year in pixels to track my mood and more.

IT WAS MY ANNIVERSARY!

I can’t believe it but – MY BLOG IS ONE YEAR OLD! I got a little (lot) emotional while writing that post. Starting this blog was the best decision I’ve ever made. It has changed so much about my life and how I think about myself and what I’m capable of. This first year was so amazing and I have no clue how I’ll top it. I guess I’ll just continue with what I’m doing and go from there 🙂

Arrow

So that was my week! Crazy in every direction! It was no  4 book week like it was last week, but it was still a great week! I hope yours was amazing as well!

Until next time, happy reading!

    1. They really are amazing medicine! It’s been a lot of work figuring out what works for what and listening to what your body needs, but it’s been a great journey!

        1. I’m glad you liked it 🙂 I started Shadowsong and just finished part one last night. It’s ok but takes on a different direction than Wintersong. I have mixed feeling about how it’s starting…. I hope it picks up!
