Top 5 Creepy Characters!

HAPPHALLOWEEN!

Happy Top 5 Tuesday everyone! And happy Halloween! One of my favourite days of the year. There’s always so much excitement in the air and so much candy LOL! The kids know that there is a parental “candy tax” they need to pay in order for them to get costumes and get walked door to door. Parents don’t do this for nothing you know! And since it was Halloween today, I thought it would be perfect timing to talk about all those creepy characters that we come across in books. I know there are quite a few that have given me the chills! So here are the characters that made me shiver….

Top 5 Tuesday is a weekly meme where I explore different topics. If you are interested in participating I would love to have you! Here is a list of my Upcoming Topics in November – please remember to ping back a specific post of mine so I get a notification and I will add you to the participants list!

Arrow

you

JOE GOLDBERG from You and Hidden Bodies by Caroline Kepnes

When I think of characters that creeped me out, Joe is the first one that comes to mind. A psychopathic serial killer that is able to blend in perfectly with the rest of society, keeping his killer instinct easily hidden below the surface was enough to make my skin crawl! It didn’t help that this book was told from his perspective so we get a first person narrative as he follows people with murder on his mind.

nevernight

MR KINDLY from Nevernight and Godsgrave by Jay Kristoff

We are now on book two in this series and we still don’t really know who/what My Kindly is!!! All we know is that he is a shadow, born from the darkness and he has quite a long list of deadly abilities. What terrifies me about him is that he’s camouflaged, easily hidden and you never really know he’s there. He just blends in with the shadows, listening, watching, and can strike at any moment. I’m not sure if not really knowing what he is makes him creepy, but I wouldn’t want to be on the wrong side of him that’s for sure!

a-head-full-of-ghosts

MARJORIE in A Head Full Of Ghosts by Paul Tremblay

This little girl was downright terrifying! I had no clue whether or not she was possessed or just mentally ill. Even considering her to be mentally stable and doing all this for fun was even more of a terrifying thought! Depending on who she was with we never could tell the truth. One minute she was normal and then the next she’s losing her mind and doing unthinkable things. This whole book just creeped me out!

The hunger games

PRESIDENT SNOW from The Hunger Games Trilogy by Suzanne Collins

Say what you will about this series, you can’t deny the fact that this man is creepy!! He holds so much power over the Capital and the Districts. The fact alone that he created The Hunger Games as a way of instilling fear and compliance within the districts…….. kids killing kids……. come on! He could do things and make them seem like they were something else……. the man is just creepy!!

Daughter of smoke and bone

RAZGUT from the Daughter of Smoke and Bone trilogy by Laini Taylor

I did a guest post write up for this creepy character over on Melanie’s blog for her Halloween event. Each day a new creepy thing was talked about and mine was all about this fallen angel that gave me the chills. CLICK HERE to see that post! And thanks to Melanie for hosting the event and bringing so much spooky to my life!!

    1. It was sooooo good!! The perspective you get of being inside his head was just crazy! You end up liking him and rooting for him….. somehow you want things to go his way….. but he’s a killer! So weird

  5. I love your list!! Happy Halloween! I’m wearing my costume around campus all day, and attending one of the on-campus parties tonight. I’m so excited and I’ve already gotten several compliments.

    1. Oh! What are you dressed as??

      1. It’s a 20s flapper. I was too chicken to wear the heels on campus (bricks from the 1890s = not very easy to walk on, even in tennis shoes!). I love Halloween so much ❤

        1. I saw it right after I asked you. Oops! Lol. I wouldn’t be able to wear the heels either. Unless I wanted all the doctors and nurses to see my costume after I broke my ankle 😂

  6. The only book I’ve read from this list is The Hunger Games, but Snow definitely is creepy!
