Weekly Wrap up – Sept 24 – 30

It’s officially fall but our week started with an unusual heat wave. We were under a heat warning for 5 days and temps were steadily over 90 degrees (with humidity it was well over 100). I don’t even think it was that hot all summer long! Welcome to fall in Ontario Canada! With the return of the spectacular fall weather, my enthusiasm to read ALL THE BOOKS returns as well! I only finished one book this week but I’m on the verge of finishing 2 more very soon!! Here’s what happened this week:

Wild beauty

WILD BEAUTY by Anna-Marie McLemore <—– (full review)
If there was ever a definition of beautiful writing – this is it. I felt like I was transported into a fairy tale from start to finish. It was just so beautiful! The love, the connections, the magic – everything. Thought I did have a hard time connecting with it at times, I still really enjoyed it. And that ending….. I’m still thinking about it!!

Allegedly is one that I had been considering for a VERY long time but never got to. The plot immediately interested me but I was worried it was going to be boring and predictable. But after hearing one of the YouTubers that I watch all the time constantly talk about how great it was I finally decided to give it a shot. Now I’m so upset with myself for not getting to this sooner!!! It’s amazing and so emotional. I can’t wait to see how this one ends! Will be finishing this one tonight or tomorrow 🙂

Marina is one that I bought because of the cover last winter and kept for a mysterious read in October. This is written by Carlos Ruiz Zafon, who’s most popular book is The Shadow of the Wind. But this one was actually written before that and is labeled as a cult classic. The prologue grabbed my attention immediately and I have a feeling this will be a great one!! It’s already started off creepy and really atmospheric.

The topic this week was top 5 characters I would team up with to rule the world which was a really different and fun one! I loved reading everyones answers and could just imagine the destruction these teams would cause! Now that September is over, please check out the Upcoming topics in October. Next weeks topic is the top 5 most read authors!

A few weeks ago I created The Fall Book Tag and I’m so overwhelmed by how many people have done it so far! So many amazing answers! Not only has this tag been done many times on the blogosphere but it’s also been done on YouTube by a fellow Books Amino member! Check out the channel Storribook for her video

It’s the end of the month so you all know what that means in the blogosphere – Hauls, wrap ups, and TBR’s! Here are mine for the month of September:

So that was my week! I hope you all had a fantastic week filled with words and adventures!!!

Until next time, happy reading!

The temperatures in NJ have been so bipolar. It was in the 90s last weekend, and right now, I am chilly with the windows closed. I love these temperatures though. McLemore’s writing is so beautiful. Wild Beauty was my first experience with her, but I have The Weight of Feathers and hope to read it soon.

    1. Bipolar is the best way to explain the weather. We went from boiling to freezing within 24 hours!
I can’t wait to see what you think of The Weight of Feathers. Even though I didn’t connect with Wild Beauty the way that I wanted to, her writing was so wonderful I’m interested in her other books!

    1. Adulting usually gets in the way of reading more than one book in a week! 😂

Oh man, that’s really hot. It was that hot in Disney, but that’s to be expected! When I got home it was much colder. I think it was in the 40’s yesterday morning and it’s currently 53. I hope it cools down for you, because fall is the best season (in my opinion) and you want to enjoy the leaves changing colour!

    1. It’s supposed to be in the mid to high 70’s this week. Our Canadian Thanksgiving is this so I’m really happy it’s supposed to be nice! Leaf fights and bon fires 🙂
