Weekly Wrap Up – Sept 10 – 16

This week has been FANTASTIC! One of the best weeks I’ve had in a while. I’ve been able to keep up with work, a clean house, spending time with the kids and so much more. Since they’ve gone back to school, I get all this stuff done while they’re away and I have more time for them AND MYSELF at night! It’s been wonderful! On Wednesday I went to an essential oil class and I’m slowly picking up the things I need to switch to a chemical free house, and a more natural me! I’m saving a ton of money making my own soaps and cleaners and love using natural plants as medicine. (That last one won’t be all the time! I’m not going to swear off modern medicine all together!) But it’s helping for sure! Then yesterday my mom and I went to a book release event! It was my moms first event and she was so excited! I can’t wait to share my experience with you – post going up tomorrow! The only hard part about this week was a giant migraine that stopped me from reading for a day or two. But it’s getting a little better after a couple days! Now! On with the books I read this week!

BOOKS I’VE FINISHED THIS WEEK:

Zodiac

ZODIAC by Romina Russell <—– (full review) 4.5 stars
Probably the only book that I’ve ever picked up and was obsessed before I made it to chapter one. I read the prologue one night just to see what it would be like end never put it back down again. This book – GAH! So amazing! And such a complex world and system – it’s truly unique! I didn’t buy any more books in the series because I wasn’t sure if this would be something I would like…. BIG mistake! I finished it and went crazy, and then promptly went to the book store to get books 2 and 3….. because I’m weak….. and I needed more!

BOOKS I’M CURRENTLY READING:

I’m not technically reading all of these at once, but this is what my week looks like. I will be finishing Invictus tonight or tomorrow and then I’ll be picking up Warcross immediately after. So many people are saying that Warcross is the best gamer book since Ready Player One which makes this a must read ASAP! I’m over 100 pages into Tower of Dawn and still taking it easy. I’m thinking I need to make a cheat sheet for these new characters – I can’t keep them straight to save my life! Still crossing my fingers I’ll get into it and it’s not happening.

OTHER BOOKISH NEWS:

TOP 5 TUESDAY

This weeks topic was the Top 5 Recommendations for non readers – and if I was adding up everyone’s books I would have to say that Perks of Being a Wallflower was the clear winner! It ended up on almost everyone’s list! Next Tuesdays topic is your Top 5 Dream Reading Spaces! Join me if you’re interested 🙂

FEATURES

I did 2 feature posts this week. First is the usual Blogger Spotlight where I list 5 blogs I love and why you should be following them too. I’ve been absent with my blog hopping and commenting lately due to a massive migraine so here’s my way to boost the community! The second was my new feature If You Like This Then….. where I recommend two books that are kind of similar, in hopes that if you loved one you will love the other. I absolutely LOVE this feature and need to make a larger list because it’s been going over so well!

Lastly, I did a list of my most anticipated books for September and October. I keep trying to remember to do posts like this but always forget. There have been so many amazing releases lately it’s actually been hard to keep them all straight!

Arrow

I hope you had a fantastic week! I can’t wait to see how many books I finish next week. If I finish more than one book next week then it will be the first time that’s happened in many months! I can’t wait to see if I can do it!!

Until next time, happy reading!

That essential oils class sounds awesome. I always thought I would take up some awesome hobby when my daughter went to college and I now longer had dance competitions to attend every weekend, but mostly, I just read more. Enjoy!

  4. I’ve got like a “starter set” of essential oils because I got them and a diffuser on one of the Prime Gold Deals on Amazon a few months ago. I really like them in the diffuser but haven’t tried any other applications, although I have a friend who is super into them.

I’ve always wondered how people liked “Perks of Being a Wallflower.” I couldn’t find a single redeeming/interesting thing in the book. Maybe I’m just a cynic.

Perks isn’t a book that everyone will like that’s for sure!

  5. Ooh, you’ve got some great reads right now! I LOVED Warcross so much. Tower of Dawn, not so much. LOL. But we’ve already talked about that. You’ll have to keep me posted on that one.
