Weekly Wrap Up – Aug 27 – Sept 2

What an insane week! I’ve had a lot on my plate. So much to worry about, so many things going wrong, so much money out the door on clothes and school supplies, and so much anxiety. I’ve fallen behind on my blog hopping and chatting with you fellow bloggers, but if I pushed myself I could have burned myself out completely. I needed a little break from my responsibilities and, to be honest, I’m still not 100% mentally ready. I’m still posting, I’m still responding, but I feel like I’m not engaging. Soon. The kids are going back to school Tuesday and after a week or two I can get into a routine. But keeping up with daily blogging has helped me have a safe space where I can clear my head and focus on something other than stress. And some really great things have happened this week!!

BOOKS I’VE FINISHED THIS WEEK:

Fireblood

OMG SOOOOO GOOD!!!! I finished this one late last night and it blew me away! This is the sequel to Frostblood and let me tell you – Elly Blake STEPPED IT UP!!! I absolutely loved it! Since Sunday is my wrap up day, I’ve decided to hold off on the review until tomorrow. I promise – you don’t want to miss this one!!!!

BOOKS I’M CURRENTLY READING:

No – you’re not seeing double – I’m actually attempting to read multiple books at a time! With a TBR as large as mine this month I feel like I need to multi task. Not to mention I’ve joined the ADSOM read along hosted by Flavia The Bibliophile! So this one will be read only a few chapters a week.

OTHER BOOKISH NEWS:

TOP 5 TUESDAY

This week was probably my favourite Top 5 Tuesday topic yet!!! This is where I listed my Top 10 side characters, which sometimes end up outshining the main character!! I also announced the upcoming topics in September if you’re interested in joining 🙂

TBR

As I mentioned above, my TBR for this month is quite long. Possibly the most amount of pages I’ve read in a month in a very long time. But I am determined! There are 7 books in total and Fireblood is the first of those 7 that I’ve finished. Starting off pretty well I think!

I’VE BEEN PUBLISHED!

On September 1st, The Parent Voice magazine published one of my book reviews! I never in a million years would have thought that published book reviewer would be on my blogging resume. But, Here it is!

Instead of continuing to focus on how stressful and awful this week was in my personal life, I’m going to focus on the positives of what September brings and what it means to me. So I have high hopes that the next week is going to be amazing!!! I hope it’s amazing for you as well!

Until next time, happy reading!

  3. Congrats on having one of your reviews published. That is amazing! I’m also so glad to hear that Fireblood is amazing. I had mixed feelings about the first book but have been hopeful that the second book would be better. Can’t wait to see what you think of A Darker Shade of Magic either!
