Weekly Wrap Up – August 20 – 26

This week was surprisingly productive!! I managed to put together a schedule for my blog posts so now I’m officially caught up until after September 7th!! YAY ME! That is of course with the exception of my book reviews which I will write once I’m finished a book. We had a house guest stay over this week which was a lot of fun, but at the same time it threw off my daily schedule so reading was next to impossible. But I did finish one book at the beginning of the week before she got here and I’m hopefully finishing another tonight! I wish all my weeks were this productive this summer! September I am setting myself up for a massive reading month! I have a TBR that is set in stone and I am DETERMINED to finish them all! I’m going to try and harness all my willpower and make September my own personal reading challenge – I’m so determined I WILL NOT FAIL! I will do this! My TBR of insanity is coming soon 🙂

BOOKS I FINISHED THIS WEEK:

the seven husbands of evelyn hugo

THE SEVEN HUSBANDS OF EVELYN HUGO by Taylor Jenkins Reid <—– (Full review)
This one was such a pleasant surprise!! I didn’t originally plan to read this one because I didn’t really like the cover and Hollywood dramas aren’t my cup of tea, but the glowing reviews from other bloggers swayed me to read it and I’m SO glad I listened to them! It was wonderful! Evelyn Hugo was a great character and it was refreshing to read the events of her Hollywood life through her eyes. Definitely recommend this one!

BOOKS I’M CURRENTLY READING:

I started You Bring The Distant Near a few days ago and I am SO close to being finished! I should finish it sometime this morning or afternoon. I didn’t plan it this way, but it’s another story following multiple generations kind of like HOMEGOING (which I finished last week), that follows an Indian family that moves to America. Since I will be finishing this one soon, I plan to pick up Fireblood right after. I’m attending the book release event for this book in September and I couldn’t be more excited!!

OTHER BOOKISH NEWS:

TOP 5 TUESDAY

This one was very exciting but also one I should have waited for. I mentioned my Top 5 retellings to which I realized that I didn’t have a whole lot that I loved. They’re very hit or miss with me and there are a few that I wish I could have included. I have many more on my TBR so maybe there will be a sequel to this post next year!

TAGS, LISTS, AND MORE!

Welcome to the world of unpopular opinions! I was hesitant to post the Popular books I didn’t like because I didn’t want to offend someone who loved these books, but we all have books we love and don’t relate to and I’m sure you understood (or left my blog forever).

I started the Blogger Spotlight feature a few months ago now and it’s one of my favourite things to do! So many great blogs out there and so much time, hard work, and creativity is poured into them. It’s my pleasure to recognize you for your efforts – so here are 5 more blogs that you need to follow!

In my attempt to keep up with more tags and award, I finally did an award! The questions were so much fun! It reminded me how much I love doing them so I need to make time to do more of them. So I started my tag revival with The Sunshine Blogger Award!

BOOK HAUL!

I actually managed to restrict myself. It looks like I spent a lot of money but I managed to score some great deals, get a few ARC’s, and visited the used book store. These books cost me less than 20$! See what I picked up HERE. September’s haul is going to be amazing! I’ve preordered a few, and ordered a few others along with them, and they’re all set to be delivered next month. I CAN’T WAIT!

Lastly, there’s only a few days left until I make the announcement of my published review! On September 1st I will be able to post a link to the online magazine that’s publishing my review and I’m so excited for it! I can’t wait to share.

So that was my crazy week full of chaos. Only a few days left until my kids go back to school (and I regain my sanity), so I have no idea how things will go until then. Hope you had a wonderful week!

Until next time, happy reading!
