Getting to know you better tag

I was tagged to do this by the wonderful Zuky over at Book Bum – it looked like such an easy way for you to get some insight of the person behind the curtain (or behind the blog) so I thought I would give it a shot!

HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN BLOGGING?

I started the blog in January of this year. I decided that starting in 2017 I would have no fears. I have held back so much in my life because I was too afraid to fail, and too afraid of the unknown. Not any more! I took the leap into blogging and it has increased my self confidence and self awareness about 5,000 fold! So glad I took the chance!

DO YOU ENJOY DOING TAGS?

Yes! I don’t do them a lot because I get tired of them very fast. But they’re a lot of fun to do (if they aren’t super long and take 10 days to write and publish!) and it gives me the chance to look at specific things about the books I’ve read in the past. It usually rekindles my love for past books and makes me want to reread them!

DO YOU FOLLOW THE BLOGS THAT FOLLOW YOU?

Not always. I did when I first started but that added up too quickly. Before I knew it I was following hundreds of blogs and a lot of them didn’t apply to my personal tastes and interests. I’ve decided since that I will only follow the blogs who’s content reflects my interests. I wish I could follow them all but I think that interacting with the blogs I follow is VERY important and I like to keep my list short.

HOW MANY POSTS HAVE YOU MADE ON YOUR BLOG? (NOT COUNTING THIS TAG)

211! Almost a post for every day that I’ve been blogging. Now that I think of it – I can’t believe I have this much to say about books! LOL!!!

ON A SCALE OF 1-10, HOW MUCH DO YOU ENJOY BLOGGING?

I would have to say 9. This has been such a positive experience for me. I love the community, I love talking about books, and I’m so happy that I’ve found such a large group of people that share the same passion. I don’t feel so alone in my love of reading! And the conversations have been wonderful! Where I take the point away is from stress. My life is so busy and I often stress about getting posts written in time and being able to visit, read, and comment on other blogs. There just isn’t enough time for that last part!

POST SOME LINKS TO BLOGS YOU ENJOY READING

Instead of actually tagging some blogs, I will ask you to do a search on my blog for “Blogger Spotlight”. Once a week I do a blogger spotlight post (if you haven’t seen it already) where I mention 4-5 blogs that I love and why I love them. There’s links to each site in every post. Go search now – I’ll wait right here 🙂

WRITING OR READING BLOG POSTS?

I absolutely love reading other peoples posts. But my heart lies with writing my own. I don’t struggle to write at all. When I sit down with my laptop my fingers move on their own. I have something to say and it all just comes out as word vomit. My problem is making sure that my fingers can keep up with my mind and then slimming down my thoughts. I can be quite long winded and go on forever. Meanwhile I’m not like that in person. I rarely ever speak when I’m outside of the house. I’m more of a quite observation person.

Thank you for tagging me!! I feel the same way about blogging increasing confidence- before my blog I rarely ever posted or commented on public forums…now I do it without a second thought! Even emails are easier to write.

    1. No problem! I’ve even talked to authors on twitter which is something I NEVER would have done before! But every time I hit that button it takes a couple minutes for me to calm down and realize that I just reached out to them!

Thanks for tagging me! This one looks like a lot of fun!

I definitely agree about blogging increasing my confidence. The more I write, the more I realize what my own voice is like, both when I’m writing and when I’m out and about in the world!

(And 211 blog posts since January?!? Holy smokes that’s impressive!!)

    1. Lol apparently when I write I’m long winded. If I wrote a book it may end up being 1,000 pages 😂
