MY REVIEW:

So, new adult or erotic romance is a genre that I rarely go for. I find them very hit or miss as I need to find something with a romance AND a good story! But this genre is the quickest way for me to reset when the books I’m reading are getting a little too heavy. This book came highly recommended by a friend so I gave it a shot. It pushed me far out of my comfort zone but I was really glad I read it!

The story itself was good. At the last minute Addison is sent to work for a band (69 Bottles) who has just hit the big time. She is to go on tour with them as their Public Relations rep and make sure that they stay out of trouble. Dealing with the usual rock star mentality comes into play but it’s especially difficult when she develops feelings for not only a band member but their manager as well. Addison herself was a great character who I really grew to like. She had some issues in her past that she was working with and I liked that she was vulnerable in still dealing with the emotions that popped up. She was very confident in her job and was really good at it! Another thing I really liked was that the band members all had different personalities. Some were more prone to trouble than others, some were more professional, and some were just crazy. Everyone added their own bits to the band dynamic. Her connection with Kyle the band manager was a little far fetched though….

I liked how strong she was and how sure she was of herself. I also liked that there was an added bit of friendship and how she managed friends and a job that took her away from home quite often.

As I said above, this one pushed me out of my comfort zone. It dealt with a threesome with herself and two other men. I’ve read about gay relationships and threesomes before, but not in a very graphic and detailed nature. It was a bit much at times but it was interesting (in a good and weird way! LOL)

I really enjoyed the writing style as well! I do have to say that the changes in POV were a little weird. They weren’t consistent so I had a really hard time shifting my perspective when the point of view changed. I had to keep stopping and looking back who was actually talking. I think that either the POV needed to be all from Addison or have the changes be more consistent so that I was used to different perspectives.

All in all, this was an enjoyable read! It allowed me a step away from the heavy thought processes and I was able to read just to experience. I don’t want to say that new adult or erotic romance are a brainless read (that sounds really harsh) but they don’t require me to sit and think. I find that they’re really easy just to take things page by page and move through the motions.

I realize that these types of books aren’t for everyone and they aren’t something I typically review on this blog! I promise I won’t be reviewing many more in the future. I’m a very broad reader so with me you get a little bit of everything!

Until next time, happy reading!
